    It was pretty well documented. Although he never admitted to having sex with a 15 year old, he never denied he had a close relationship with her behind his wife's back. He's a liar. He's a cheat. He's scum. (And by the way, he lives in my town, Sugar Land, TX. People here all seem to think he's dirt.)

    I totally agree. Because he never threw his bat down in disgust or jawed with an ump, many took that to mean he didn't care. He worked very hard at improving his hitting. He took it seriously. At times, he did things to show he cared about his teammates. He sat out the last day of the season to make sure Mueller won the batting title, and he was the only player willing to step up and let Youk know he was going over board and needed to settle down.

    I loved his quiet serious hitting approach. He always remained calm in the box. He also spent a long time in the batting cage. He played the game to have fun, and for that, many ridiculed him. I get how there was much more to ridicule him over, and much of it was warranted, but the guy was a kid in a man's body, and it was so enjoyable watching him play for us.

    Beni has been hot as well. I doubt JBJ or Beni are on the bench to start all 3 games. I think JBJ sits 2 and Beni 1 (v a lefty). We might see Betts at 2B for one game and Beni and JBJ both sitting out just one road game. The best solution is to just win in 4, so we only have 2 NL road games.

    I'm sure Cora wishes he had a Manny right now to deal with. Without Manny, Tito likely has no rings. I get the longevity argument, and I can understand why some will not see Cora as the best until he has more years under his belt, but to me, Cora is doing things no other Sox manager has dared do. His use of analytics balanced with his feel for what is right seems to be better than even Tito at his best. I know, I know, Cora needs to win a ring before any definitive judgement can be made in his favor, and like all managers, there will likely be lean times (see "the cliff"), but pound for pound I like Cora better, despite the limited sample size.

    Tito was fantastic. At the end of his time here, he lost some control, for reasons that are totally understandable. Even then, he was a way better manager than I could even dream of being.

    Fantastic post. The commissioner does need to do all he can to try and fix these problems, but the owners are the ones who make the final decisions. I'm not sure why any NL owner clings to their anti-DH stance.

    ...and it does not mean all managers are equally better than the best of us. Some are much better than others. Anyone know how to create a thread with a poll?

    I'll sign on to the proclamation. I'll add that even though I know Tito and JF knew more than I did, I still felt we could improve. Yes, they are/were all better than I, but Cora is better than all of them. He's the best we've ever had.

    He'll try, if only to save face for all the money he may make doing nothing. My point is, Sox management should plan the roster as if he is not even an option. With Nunez, Holt, Hernandez, Lin, Quiroz and maybe others all on the roster, we'll probably stand pat at 2B this winter, so the job is there for Pedey, if he can win it (doubtful).

    I'd love to see him in pinstripes. 1) His contract will cripple them into a cliff. 2) His cancer will spread and engulf the whole team. 3) He's over-rated anyways.

    cots had us at $233M on 7/18/18. That is counting the $14M to player benefits. I think we structured the Eovaldi and Pearce trades to help us stay just unter the $40M over mark.

    You're assuming Beni doesn't catch the ball, AND it gets by him far enough away to allow 3 runs to score.
