So, he cheats to build muscle mass, becomes a big power hitter, and then works hard to maintain the muscle mass. That's all good with you? Why do you assume he stopped working out, and nothing is left over from PED use? Maybe it is, but there's a significant chance the PED use is still helping him today.

I really like our starting 5. It's always nice to have great starter depth, but Johnson & Velazquez aren't even close to the worst 6th starters in MLB. They'd probably win the 5th starter role on some teams.

I don't disagree with anything here. I've certainly done my share of wrong in my lifetime. The thing about this cheating is that although he has "paid the price" for his cheating, he still is likely reaping the benefits of the PED usage. It's like a a bank robber doing his time but being allowed to keep the money.

I'm concerned about our pen, but I'm feeling better about this team in March than I have in any other year for over a decade. As I said last summer, Cora is the best Sox manager I have ever seen. We have a great offense, a very nice defense, a very solid rotation and decent base running skills. Our pen looks to be about average. I understand why the focus is usually on the team's weakest link, but our team is rock solid.

Yes, I totally agree. Many from my parents' generation don't believe in therapy or talking through psychological issues. They let it fester and nearly destroy any enjoyment in life. It wasn't paradise for the surviving siblings either.

No. You have a healthy attitude towards life and death. I have 5 sisters- 3 older and two younger. All are still alive and relatively healthy. My Dad is 92 and my mom is 82. They still live at their home and keep the lake house going. They amaze us all. When I was 3, my 2 year old brother drowned in my grandparents pool in Memphis. My parents never recovered, and in my opinion, never faced the anguish, blame and anxiety in a healthy way. We all suffered as a result. I barely remember that sad day, but I know it played a big role in my upbringing and the formation of who I am today. I'm not sure how I will handle the death of my parents, and I'm trying to communicate with them as often as possible, despite my Dad being a real prick too often than any of us care to experience. I've learned that acceptance does not mean agreement, but it took me half my life to figure that out.

I understand, but I've always been kinds tough on cheaters, and I think I would be hypocritical, after yapping about Yankee cheaters, to suddenly embrace Chavis or forgive him. If he joins the Sox, I will root for him as hard as anyone else, but if we could get something nice by trading him, I wouldn't be upset. (I would not want to trade him, if we didn't have Dalbec and Casas.)

I was one of Clay's biggest supporters when he was here, except for maybe the last year or two. He's gone. I prefer to keep it that way.

True. I keep looking for a way to trade 2 for 1 better player, while offering marginal players with no options left. Swihart (Leon) Johnson Hembree (Workman) I realize other teams have roster squeezes going on, too, and maybe nobody would give a better pitcher than Hembree & Workman for both of them (or Workman + Swihart for a better RP'er than Workman),

Hard for me to know, but if it's just Swihart straight up, it might be a possibility.

I didn't say "convict", but I have seen nothing on Petite hitting an 16 year old girls. That's worse than anything else being discussed, assuming it is true. Most down here in Sugar Land, TX seem to think of Clemens as a real creep.

All of it in 2 years? (I assume, if you work out you can retain some or most of the muscle gained through PEDS, even after you stop taking them, but I admit, I am no expert on the subject.)

Maybe-probably, but with just so much budget space, I think we can do better in July- more bang for the buck. Like Reed in 2017 or Eovaldi in 2018.

I get your point, but I felt all along he was going to get a ML deal. I'm not against signing anybody to a minor league deal with no budget addition.

We don't need to spend $3-6M on a 6th starter, especially when we are about $5.5M from the max penalty line.

I'd take a heck of a lot of other pitchers over Buch, including Brasier, Barnes, Hembree, Workman and maybe even Thornburg, if his health looks decent.
