  1. In terms of strength of remaining schedule based on winning %, we have the hardest 6, then DET next.
  2. Yes, it's probably easier to trade Paez than Mullins for that reason, unless the team really likes Mullins and will create a 40 man slot for him. The same is true for offering a package of Duran, DHam and Murphy. The team would need to not only want all 3, but make room for all 3. All 3 would have to be better than those they clear out to make room for them.
  3. Maybe. Since I like Mullins more than the 3 guys I listed, I'd keep Sandlin and him by adding them to the 40. The thing is, when we start adding FAs of trade targets, he's like #39 or 40, so... I think we need a 3 for 1 trade mixed in somewhere before Rule 5 day.
  4. I think we keep Sandlin. Mullins might be 50-50. I'd rather keep Mullins over I Campbell, Grissom & Hicks, if it came down to them or...
  5. Agreed, and that was one reason I suggested Uberstine as a trade add-on. No 40 man slot is needed for him.
  6. He's probably worth protecting from Rule 5 and seeing what he can do in AAA, next year. I see enough others we can trade or DFA, but it also depends on Brez deciding to add 2-3 higher quality players to the 40 or go with 4-5 mid ranger additions, instead. It's a close call, but I like Mullins better than Sandlin, right now. Both are Rule 5 eligible, and we may keep just 1.
  7. Now, all we have is one big pumpkin patch.
  8. I'm losing faith in Sandlin, but I guess I'd put him over Uberstine. Since Hicks costs less, I think we'd need to include about as much as for Yoshida, if not more.
  9. I'd do either in a heartbeat and add a prospect. I'd suggest Sandlin, but they may insist on Uberstine, Mullins or Guerrero. If they'd take ICampbell, Kelly or ZMurphy, I'd gladly say yes. Maybe they hold out for someone better, like Clarke or Paez. How about Cespedes,Castro or Bleis?
  10. Thanks. I'm glad we can have him start in AAA, next year. Another option year would be even better!
  11. Yup: go 2-1 in each series, and we are in. (DET or CLE have to lose at least 2 games, since they play a 3 game series against each other.)
  12. LOL. We have some work cut out for us, once the season ends. We currently have 50 players on the 40, since 10 are on the 60 Day IL. 4 players will be FAs: Refsnyder, Wilson, Matz & May. 4 have various forms of options: Bregman (opt out) Giolito (Mutual Option) and Story (opt out.) Hendriks will not get his team option. My guess is just Story will remain under team control. That means 7 from 50 =43 for a 40 Man roster before Rule 5 choices are made. The Lowe choice might be a hard one. He is in his last arb year that could get him between $8-11M. We may just non tender him. I think we keep Moran, Sogard and Eaton around. I don't think keeping the out-of-options Hicks on the 40 is a good idea, but I think they stuck with him this long, he will get a shot in ST'ing to make the 26. That leaves these guys to cut or trade to get from 43 to 40, plus for every Rule 5 guy we keep, one needs to go. Grissom I Campbell DHam Murphy Wong (We'd need to add a catcher.) We could also try to pull off a pre-Rule 5 trade that involves 2-3 players for 1. Talk of trading an OF'er has been going on for over a year.
  13. No games in the American League, today. 6 games to go for everybody: BOS: 3 at TOR & 3 v DET DET: 3 at CLE & 3 at BOS CLE: 3 v DET & 3 v TEX HOU: 3 at ATL & 3 at LAA SEA: 3 v COL & 3 v LAD NYY: 3 v CWS & 3 v BAL While we play 3 at TOR, either DET or CLE will lose 2-3 games. Just win, baby!
  14. We missed a big chance to put some distance between us & CLE/HOU/DET. We still hold the #2 WC slot, but by just 1 game over the three teams I listed above. One of those three (DET or CLE) will win the ALC, so it's basically down to 3 for the remaining 2 WC slots. The Yanks are closer to the first base Jays (2GB) than we are to them (3GB.) In the NL, AZ is one back from CIN & NYM, who are tied for the last WC berth.
  15. We have quite a few 40 man roster guys that have done almost everything possible to show they don't belong on it.
  16. I'm not into giving points for hitting one team well for a few games. Eaton in RF is better D and maybe equal O to Masa.
  17. DET OPS since Sept 11th, not counting today: .000 Sweeney (0-1 today) .143 Rogers (0-0) .250 Perez (0-4) .278 McKinsty (2-3) .368 Greene (2-4) .429 Baez (0-2) .522 Ibanez (0-1) .548 Dingler (3-4) .608 Meadows (0-2) .720 Carpenter (2-5) .772 Torres (2-4) .778 Keith (0-0) .800 Jones (0-1) 1.099 Torkelson (0-5)
  18. Assuming Bregman & Gio opt out, Refsnyder retires, and other FAs are not re-signed, this is the remaining foundation for 2026: SP: Crochet, Bello, Dobbins, Sandoval, Early/Harrison/Fitts/Perales RP: Chapman, Whitlock, Slaten, Weissert, Crawford, Tolle, Bernardino, Winckowski/Hicks/Guerrero/Kelly/Moran/Murphy 1. Anthony LF 2. Story 2B 3. Duran DH 4. Abreu RF 5. Romy 2B 6. Mayer 3B 7. Casas or Lowe 1B 8. Narvaez C 9. Rafaela CF (We could see Casas at DH or Masa, of course.) Bench: Wong, Eaton, Sogard/Campbell/Jh Garcia
  19. What Yoshida in RF says the most to me is, "How bad must Duran's arm be?"
  20. Woo ended the season with a 9-8 win. Sandlin, Song and I Campbell all ended their seasons with a bad game. Guerrero pitched a scoreless inning. I'm not sure he gets a late call-up. Hickey homered, Sikes & Ferguson had 3 hits each. Romero had 2 hits and ended at ,745. Jh Garcia 0-2 and ended at .832. Considering all the rookie call-ups, WOO did okay.
