  1. If he's doing well, and we are sellers (big if), my guess is a really good prospect or two good ones.
  2. He missed most of 2015 but played regularly the last 2 months: 1.163 AUG .739 SEP (not too bad) 2016: .807 APR 1.175 MAY .805 JUN .839 JUL (That's 6 straight months over .739 with 5 of 6 over .800) Then... .651 AUG (not as bad as now) .731 SEP (not too bad) In 2017, he only played 12 games in April (.596), then hit... .808 in May 1.009 JUN If you discount that April, he hit over .730 in 9 of 10 months and over .800 in 7 of those 10.
  3. Sorry Celtic fans. My Bucks were just too dominating. Man, Irving really ruined a good thing.
  4. From 2015-2016, JBJ hit over .830 in 900+ PAs. That's 1.5 seasons. That seems like so long ago.
  5. Big sigh! Thank you, Sandy for snagging that foul tip.
  6. We did lose 2of 3 to the 100 loss CWS at Fenway last year.
  7. How can anyone walk JBJ?
  8. I wouldn't say "never," but he's about to be benched...perhaps for good. (If he ends up playing somewhere else, my guess is he will do well again at some point before his career is over.)
  9. I hear you and agree 100%. I'm JBJ's biggest fan, and he's very close to losing his job.
  10. I can hear Sox fans now, if he crashes into the LF wall. Seriously though, if Pedey comes back and can stay healthy, where else can we play him. JBJ may be playing himself out of a job. Chavis is not a good fielder anywhere, so trying to "hide him" in Fenway's LF seems like a reasonable idea, to me.
  11. Chris Freekin' Sale!
  12. TB lost this afternoon. Let's go +1.
  13. No Chavis, either. Leon used to be Sale's caddy, so I wonder, if we are back into that groove again. 1. Beni LF 2. Betts RF 3. JD DH 4. Moreland 1B 5. Bogaerts SS 6. Devers 3B 7. Nunez 2B 8. JBJ CF 9. Leon C
  14. The top RP'er contracts last winter were.... $39M/3 Britton $30M/3 Familia $27M/3 Ottavino $25M/2 AMiller $23M/2 Robertson $25M/3 Kelly $18M/2 Herrera $15M/2 Soria $10M/2 J Wilson $8.5M/1 CAllen $7M/1 TRosenthal $8M/2 J Chavez All others were under $3.25M a year. I was pushing Cody Allen, due to his lower cost, and I hoped he'd rebound. I suggested Ottavino, if we didn't care about going over the max line. I did not want Kelly and felt Kimbrel would cost too much and may be ready for a decline.
  15. There are a few RP'ers that have been pretty consistent, but guys like Kelly and Cody Allen were and still are crap shoots. We didn't have the budget space for a top (and consistently good) RP'er, so our choices would have been all crap shoots.
  16. lmao!
  17. We've used 20 pitchers already this year, not counting Nunez. We may end up using Shawaryn or Feltman at some point. Only 13 pitchers have more than 6 IP.
  18. He did what he was told to do, so we can't fault JBJ. On bunting, although I am opposed to doing things that seem to go against the odds, sometimes when someone is struggling maybe the odds improve for bunting. Also, it's nice to keep the opponents guessing. If you never bunt, they will stop playing for one, and you lose the increased chance of getting a hit when an IF is drawn in. Keep 'em guessing!
  19. I agree, and he kept some budget space for a mid season deal or two.
