  1. This is why he still has value. If he starts off 2020 at 7-2 with a 3.24 ERA, his value will be much greater in July.
  2. So, it basically hints at Price being worth $12M x 3 years ($96M- $36M= $60M value).
  3. I'll never be "mad at Henry." If he cuts payroll to $150M, I would not get upset. I thought I was going to die never seeing a Sox championship.
  4. LOL. I'm pretty sure this trade will never happen. I was just showing harmony a view.
  5. I have a niece and a nephew who live there. One is just 2 subway stops from her apartment to her job.
  6. Maybe not the actual banner, but there was a lot of recent discussion about the sell-off of 2012 and the 2013 ring year.
  7. String bean or not, Price was a horse when we signed him. Before we signed him, he had these numbers: 469 IP in his previous 2 seasons- most in MLB 208+ IP in 4 of his previous 5 seasons (with 187 in the fifth) 27+ starts in 5 straight seasons (31+ in 4 of 5) Previous 4 season totals: 63-30 2.90 (133 ERA+) 2.90 FIP 8.9 K/9 (4.98 K/BB) 1.087 WHIP He then led the AL in IP in his first year with the Sox at age 30 (230 IP) 2014-2016 IP Leaders 699 Price 677 Scherzer 675 Cueto 673 Kluber 662 Bumgarner 637 Samardzija 627 Lester
  8. I don't blame you, but as a Sox fan with an eye on budget costs, I'm glad the Yanks signed Cole for mega bucks. I'm thinking the long term negative effects will out weight the short term gains you likely will see.
  9. Yes, and what those two get may help "set" the payoff number on Price's remaining contract costs.
  10. Bloom could have a number of deals on the table or in the works. He might be waiting for more FAs to sign, so teams that miss out become more motivated. Other teams may be waiting to see, if they can make another deal or signing first before agreeing to trade for Price. I don't think the fact that no deal has been made, yet means nothing is in sight.
  11. The trade simulator accepted this trade: Price, Vaz and $3M a year x 3 yrs for Myers, Hedges, Wingenter & Garcia
  12. I'd guess we end up trading Price and JBJ. We'd have some space to add a cheap SP'er, RP'er and 1B/2B. We could maybe trade Price for Myers and fill the 1B role- allowing Chavis to play more 2B.
  13. He should be for at least a year or two, but things often happen. We got Price when he was just 1 year older than Cole is now. He was a clear ace with a strong recent and extended history of health and excellence. Things happen. While you are right, one could also say wanting him to be dominant going forward "doesn't make it so."
  14. AZ to sign Bumgarner. Mets get Wacha.
  15. Yes, of course we will help her choose a safe place, but not all of the Bronx is dangerous.
  16. Man! We could have traded Decker straight up for Kluber!
  17. Injured.
  18. She will choose safe- maybe Long Island City or Brooklyn.
  19. She's looking all over, but yes, some in the Bronx. She's just looking at options. She won't be committing until next summer.
  20. I do think the Astros look slightly better than the Yanks, right now, but there is more wheeling and dealing to come.
  21. They wouldn't trade one of those guys, even if we paid all but $5M a year of Price's contract.
  22. If we eat just $10-12M of Price's deal, we'll get a bag of used balls back.
  23. She doesn't care about baseball or sports. She was searching online for apartments and found some near Yankee stadium.
  24. They also have McCullers back.
