  1. It's Beni for Cordero Winckowski $2+M (paid for one from Renfroe or Sawamura or Marwin) 3 PTBNL
  2. Let's say Arroyo for Cordero: vs RHP 1. Hernandez CF 2. Verdugo RF 3. JD DH 4. Bogey SS 5. Devers 3B 6. Santana LF 7. Vaz C 8. Arroyo 2B 9. Dalbec/Marwin/Chavis 1B vs LHP 1. Hernandez CF 2. Verdugo LF 3. JD DH 4. Bogey SS 5. Devers 3B 6. Renfroe RF 7. Dalbec 1B 8. Vaz C 9. Santana/Arroyo/Marwin/Chavis 2B
  3. I have said I prefer Cordero. Santana can play OF, so we don't need Cordero vs RHPs.
  4. 24 Off 25 ATL Richards +1 26 ATL Pivetta +1 27 Off 28 MIA Perez +2 29 MIA Eovaldi +2 30 MIA Richards 31 @HOU Pivetta J1 @HOU ERod +4 J2 @HOU Perez J3 @HOU Eovaldi @NYY 3 (Richards, Pivetta, ERod) If the two days off were spread out 4 days instead of 2, we could have totally skipped a start or two by ERod. This was, he gets 4 extra days rest.
  5. I'm not into golf, but that was fun to watch.
  6. A lot can change between now and whenever, but here is my call (not what I think Bloom/Cora will do) on future roster moves, at this point in time: Arroyo comes up: Cordero demoted (Core/Bloom: maybe Chavis) Brasier come up: Chavis demoted Sale come up: I'll guess Valdez or Taylor (Andriese has no options.)
  7. Geez, you take 3 out of 4 and lose ground to two contenders. AL Leaders - BOS - TBR .5 NYY .5 OAK 1.5 CWS 2.5 HOU 3.0 CLE 4.5 TOR 5.5 KCR The NL is starting to shake out as expected... - SDP 1.0 LAD 1.0 SFG 2.5 STL 5.0 NYM 5.5 Cubs 6.0 MIL 6.5 PHI The top 3 teams in each league all come from just one division: ALE & NLW.
  8. I'm very optimistic about Duran, but I never get all gah gah over any 2 week sample size, even in the bigs. I do think he has power and will in the majors, but 7 HRs in AAA is not "legendary" in any way whatsoever.
  9. Well, Toronto lost. Phil is still up 2.
  10. He's halfway to Danny's number!
  11. We don't have an ace, and yet we win. That should be evidence enough, but I can give you a few examples where we lit up opposing aces or top closers. This team's offense seems to do worse vs newbies, struggling pitchers or journeymen.
  12. Franchy, my main man! I told you guys we shouldnt demote him! (LOL)
  13. While good pitching gives every team a better chance of winning than good hitting, it's not even close to "almost every time," or we'd see teams going 28-5 in starts from the best pitchers. Look at Pedro: he was 219-100 overall, yet he was: 11-11 vs NY 11-11 vs ATL 6-7 vs HOU 3-5 vs LAD 4-4 vs STL All teams that hit very well back in those days.
  14. Dalbec is looking more and more like a platoon player on the wrong end of it.
  15. It's easier to find a pitcher to send down than choose between Santana or Chavis when Arroyo returns. BTW, the Brasier question may arise before the Sale one Someone may get hurt before then, or someone mya be struggling so much, the choice is easy. If the choice is hard, we're probably still doing very well, so it's a good problem to have..
  16. The players also love Cora because he's a winner, and they win with him. I'm not saying I agree with resting players as much as he does, but it's a long season, and we'll need our big 4 hitters healthy and fresh all season long to have any real chance at winning it all, this year.
  17. Good point, and maybe he just needs a rest.
  18. I wouldn't say Duran has "legendary power" either. He had 3 HRs in 3 seasons of college and 8 HRs in 880 PAs before this year. (15 in 957 career)
  19. Well said, I agree 100%. If he does well, so be it. He's got just one more arb year left.
  20. Guys, get used to it: it's Jarren Duran not Jarred.
  21. Nobody is saying Henry does not have the final word. The point of contention is does he voice his over-riding commands over everything?
  22. It was opening day, so there was a big sense of excitement, but the place was not all that unlike any domed stadium I've been to, and I've been to a lot. It's certainly not as nice as Houston's.
  23. Then, at least account for the $2M of so we saved and call it the Cordero & Renfroe for Beni trade, or maybe Cordero & Marwin or Sawamura...
  24. What about the Booby V (intentionally misspelled) fiasco? BTW, I think Henry lays out a plan with priorities, and the GM does his own think within that plan, like "I want this to be a high priority: reset in 2020 and stay under in 2021."
