  1. Seabold continued his downward slide, last night. 5IP 6H 4ER 2BB 4K while Connor Wong (3-5) continues making his case for a legit shot at winning the back-up catcher slot in 2023. I'm pretty sure, he'll be a September call-up. Stewart his the most quiet 19th HR in the system. Nobody ever talks about him. Portland won 8-0, and Mata is really impressing me. 6IP 5H 0ER 2BB 9K His ERA is now 1.85 on the farm. 2023 ready? Rafaela went 2-5 w a 3B to improve his AA OPS to .839. Recently acquired Wilyer Abreu also went 2-5, but Potts did most of the damage going 2-4 w a HR and 5 rbi. Story went 0-1 w a SF & rbi. Lugo continued mashing w GRE. I think this was his 5th HR in 4 games. Hickey went 2-3 with a BB. (57 BB & 63 Ks in 216 ABs). Rosier and Ferguson walked twice, each. Bonaci went 3-5 with Salem. He has 80 BB and 80 Ks on the season and had none of either, last night.
  2. Kinda like Sale & Paxton, this year.
  3. I tried to keep it simple and modest, but I agree about LF and DH. It's usually easy to find 1 year fill-ins for those positions. The rotation, pen and pitching depth looks greatly improved, IMO.
  4. Amazingly, he still has an option left, so it's also how bad the pitching is on the 26, too.
  5. Doesn't stop them from swinging for a homer.
  6. We should have signed Hill, last year and Perez, this year.
  7. Kinda like Rich Hill at $5M.
  8. No way should we give JD a QO. Wacha yes. Bogey yes. Nate no. JD no.
  9. Can we really get a win, tonight????
  10. Going for a higher draft pick.
  11. It seems like maybe Bloom saw something in Perez, none of us saw, but was a year or two off on his timing. Not so for Richards.
  12. Lugo's first year was decent. The injury cut down his range on D, and that was all he had prior to the injury. Renteria ended up costing us about $40M for 1 year. I think only Price ended up costing us more than that, if you figure the total we paid him divided by 4 years.
  13. Apparently, he keeps fighting, even after being put on ignore.
  14. And people were bitching about trying Bobby Dee at 2B! LOL! If this doesn't win Cora the MOY Award, nothing will!
  15. Thanks for the eye test report. Only time will tell. These two both seem to have some holes in their games to repair before making it to the bigs, but neither is too old for their level or seem destined to be AAAA players, despite the lies one Yankee posters keeps spouting about Binelas.
  16. Some won't admit it's too early to judge a trade for prospects. Beni was a fine player. I doubt he'd have made much of a difference, but he was a plus player. His team control ends, this winter, so his half of the trade is just about in the books. So far, it looks like a bad trade. Cordero has sucked. Wink no longer looks all that promising, but there is still time to turn it around. The other 3 prospects are far away from the bigs, and mjay easily amount to squat.... or not. The $3M saved year one was used to sign an OF'er named Renfroe. One can choose to not count that as part of the trade, or sub Marwin's name for Renfroe, and the dynamic changes significantly. Fill in the blank on who we signed for Beni's second year.
  17. Shhhhh.... We don't won't the Yanks to can cashman or Boone.
  18. I figured it had to be.
  19. It might help to know a little more about him for planning the 1B situation for 2023. September call-ups don't affect service time, or did they change that?
  20. Teams can no longer bring up 15 guys, but I do think they may want a look at Casas. The AAA season ends earlier, and Casas missed some time, this year. I think we'll see some DFA's to make room for everyone they want to give some more playing time- maybe Plawecki might be one, but they might want him to tutor the prospect catchers. We could also demote and not DFA Cordero, Dalbec and a few others to make room for prospects.
  21. Never took the Elk to be a censorship hound.
  22. Looks like Devers is finally getting over the Vaz trade.
  23. We'll see what Casas has in September. If Bello gets healthy, we'll start him a few times for a better look-see. Maybe DFA Plawecki and let Wong and RHern get some experience.
