  1. It's like Groundhog Day- the movie!
  2. Watching the third strike, when this guy has been calling borderline pitches strikes all day is maddening. Then, the harmless pop out. Snake bite season.
  3. I'd say this can't be happening, but sadly it's come to be expected.
  4. Schreiber might just be a keeper, or is everyone else in the pen so bad, a couple good games in a row is all you need to be promoted to the top set-up man?
  5. Fair enough. Can we please stop the Houck piggybank cah-cah?
  6. Whitlock had major surgery. That's one reason he was "turned into a RP'er." He will likely be on a pitch count for maybe the whole year, so don't expect 160+ innings, let alone the 200+ you normally expect from your #1.
  7. It did not start out that way, this season. The pen actually started out better, but wow, the starters have really stepped up. Too bad nobody else has.
  8. Indeed, but why does he het to go 3 times through an order but not Wacha or Hill?
  9. We need to cease and desist taking borderline pitches and swinging at balls in the dirt.
  10. I'm not saying opinions should not be expressed, but isn't this thread about now?
  11. He did add Wach & Hill, too. The two prospect we got for Renfroe are doing very well, and JBJ is our hottest hitter the past few days.
  12. Time for the mojo to rise! 1. Story 2. Devers 3. Bogey 4. JD 5. Dugo 6. Kike 7. JBJ 8. Vaz 9. Cordero 1B SP: Pivetta (5.00 ERA in his last 2 starts.)
  13. Murphy's ERA is down to 2.10, despite the 14 BBs in 30 IP. The 38 Ks and only 16 hits are nice to see.
  14. These guys will have to earn their way onto the staff, and many will be after 2022. Add Wello, Woome, Wata, Weabold & Wurphy to the list.
  15. We could see lots of W’s as in wins and… Whitlock Winckowski Walter Wikelman Wallace And Tanner Wowck
  16. Wallace will be in the pen. Maybe add Seabold, Walter or Gonzalez to the rotation- or Houck.
  17. I doubt it, but this thread is about firing Bloom, now, right?
  18. True, but man, he was awful for a stretch there, before the playoffs. His last 11 games: 7.2 IP 12 H 5 BB 2 HBP 8 ER 10 K That's 19 runners allowed in less than 8 IP with an ERA over 9!
  19. 1. This thread implies firing Bloom, now- not "if we finish in last place.". There was no mention of waiting until after the season. 2. I don't think we'll finish in last place. 3. No, I don't think he'd be fired, if we do finish last, despite the large payroll, but I do think a debate would be justified, then. I think Bloom will be given more time than Ben was given, but then again Ben did win a ring between the 3 last place finishes.
  20. I disagree, but if a few feels this way, have at it. I'm out.
  21. Let's allow this thread to retire.
  22. Many felt Kelly should have been left off the playoff/WS roster, but that would have been a costly mistake. (Also, a lesson to those who feel your most recent production level dooms you to repeat that going forward.)
  23. Yes, I mistyped 1 for 4. I admit, I kinda gave up on Lugo.
  24. Between ST'ing and the start of the season, I think Fitzy deserves a look-see, and soon. Groome did not have it, tonight. I think it will be Seabold or Winckowski as the first starter to be called up. Rafaela went 3 for 4 w a 2B Lugo 2 for 4 Larry covered the taters.
  25. So far, no, but I have more hope in the bats turning around than the guys we have in the pen, right now.
