  1. No. That would be Swihart. You're just the great Kike disdainer.
  2. You crack me up. I was never defending Kike's .240 BA, I was defending his great D and heroic playoff and second half 2021 offensive numbers. I don't think Renfroe ever played great D or had heroic moments in the playoffs. Can you stay focused on what points others are actually making, instead of inventing things we are not defending. Fine. You think Renfroe's RBI totals outweigh his poor and defense. (Yet, you don't praise Story for his RVBI totals- interesting.) I think Kike's defense and slugging abilities outweigh his .240 career BA. Just stop lying about what I'm defending. BTW, Kike had more RBIs (9) in the 2021 playoffs than Renfroe has in 7 career playoff series (8). Career playoff lines Kike .269 13 27 in 194 PAs Renfroe .186 2 8 in 67 PAs
  3. Never implied that. I was just curious of his take of your troll question.
  4. Or, their own similar form of assigning an overall value and more importantly projected value, which may not have much to do with 2022 or 2019-2022 WAR. I did not mean to imply "favor D" over offense, but just that it is an important factor (as it is with WAR.)
  5. So, you defending Renfroe is hilarious? Got it.
  6. I was asking notin. Everyone knows our two views on Kike.
  7. How you can't see your clear disdain is what is hilarious. Just own up to your beliefs. BTW, Kike's return need not lead to Duran's benching. JBJ could be replaced, instead. Kike could be what you call him: a 4th OF'er and 5th IF'er, or do you prefer Refsnyder & Arroyo? Yes or no?
  8. I don't think he goes to LAD, that's why I mentioned other places, like STL. They'd love him there as much or maybe more than he was loved here, but they do tend to favor defense at SS, like many GMs do.
  9. How would you answer this "troll" question posed by Red? Does anyone miss Kike outside of Moon?
  10. I was talking about one season, only, and I mentioned it was a close call with JBJ, Lynn and Coco. The UZR/150 and DRS numbers show others had better seasons, but I guess one's opinion cannot deviate from the metrics, if one is viewed as a stat geek. Either way, I don't idolize Kike: I defend him against false statements and put downs. Kike was never my favorite Sox player like JBJ was for a half decade or more, but I still think Kike played a fantastic defensive CF for us in 2021. The best? Maybe not. Maybe, probably not. Maybe I was a victim of the recency effect. I should have said "one of the best," I suppose.
  11. Best OPS Games 82-162 in 2021 .957 Schwarber (168 PAs) .897 Dalbec (221) .897 Devers (340) .848 Kike (316) .823 Renfroe (300) .813 JD (308) .778 Verdugo (290) .773 Bogey (283) .653 Vaz (233) 2021 Playoffs 1.260 Kike (49 ABs) 1.135 JD (32) 1.028 Devers (44) .835 Verdugo (42) .833 Bogey (46) .718 Schwarber (44) .709 Vaz (32) .632 Arroyo (38) .576 Renfroe (36) The correct question should be, who doesn't want Kike back? There is only one answer to this question: Old Red.
  12. Playoff and second half of 2021 hero, yes. The context is needed and the statement is correct. Your statement about Kike being a 5th IF/4th OF was a put down and a lie. (I say "lie" because you are now repeating and purposely stating falsehoods after being corrected with the facts.) His last 2 years in LA- 2019 and 2020: Kike had more PAs at 2B than anyone else on the team. He played more innings at 2B than anyone else. He was NOT a 5th IF'er. Keep choosing to repeat your lies as proof of your disdain.
  13. It was in response to your and Bell's back and forth on Bogey going to LAD, this winter... LOL!
  14. Just checking in on my "troll" post: NYY June 19> 1.15 WHIP 3.70 ERA 3.86 SIERA 4.06 xFIP 96 ERA- Pre June 19 1.05 WHIP 2.74 ERA 3.37 SIERA 3.45 xFIP 72 ERA- Not really a "slump," but there was a clear drop off. (Hard to keep up with near perfection, I might add.)
  15. It helps that nobody has missed extended time, and that allows for a rotation. I'm not expecting that continue.
  16. I've suggested trading Kike several times, recently on BTV. I once said he had the greatest defensive season by a Sox OF'er in my memory, and you stretch that to idolization. Most of the time I talk about Kike is when defending him against your and other's insults and put-downs. And, yes, your disdain is obvious and constant.
  17. I doubt we are sellers & buyers, but yes, I did bring it up a few times. I can't see Bloom trading Bogey, even if he really wants to improve the longer outlook as his top priority. All that being said, here are some moves I suggested on BTV while playing around with values: 3 Way Deals to BOS Mountcastle 1B Santander RF (L/R) O'Hoppe C prospect Lopes RP Segura SS/2B (1.5 yrs control) to PHI Bogey Kike Crawford to BAL Abel Dalbec Seabold _____________ To BOS Mountcastle Santander Lopez To STL Bogey To BAL Libertore Dalbec Groome Bonaci ______________________ To BOS Montas O'Hopped Piscotty Segura Trivino To PHI Bogey Kike To OAK Abel Groome Note: none of these will happen, and I'm not sure I'm for any of them. Here is one, I'd do: To BOS O'Hoppe Kiermaier Adam To PHI Kike W Gonzalez Lugo Groome Diekman To TBR McGarry
  18. Yes, I was. I believe there is less than a 1% chance Bogey is traded at the deadline, even if we are 5 down in the last WC slot race by that time.
  19. If we go 7-7 or 6-8, we will still b e firmly in the race. A pummeling is possible, and yes, moods swing on a dime, here.
  20. These are big 14 games, but no 14 games decides anything. Did we not learn from what just happened, this year. We were all but written off by many on this site, then in 3-4 weeks, we had the best WC record in the AL. That can happen again, after these 14 games- in August- in September...
  21. Yup. I had Mayer ahead of Casas the day we drafted him. Bello might have jumped him in my rankings, even if Casas did not get hurt.
  22. Still showing clear disdain.
  23. Boone did not get better. The team did, and they are much more healthier than years past.
  24. The Cards need a SS, and they’ve been known to spend big on shiny objects from time to time. The Phillies and Giants might be in on the bidding. More teams might be involved, if Bogey agrees to play 2B or 3B right away.
