  1. Now, Kike's line shot finds an opening.
  2. Several other hard out, today, too.
  3. Duran on base 2 in 3 tries! Milagro!
  4. Just don't call it "piggy-backing," but yes, having 3 guys that can go 3-4 IP every 4-5 days really takes the stress off the short guys. In theory, if you have Sale, Kluber, Paxton, Bello and Pivetta starting, we could add Whitlock and make it 4 long guys: 5 SP 4 Long Men (Whitlock, Houck, Wink, Craw) 4 Shortmen (Jansen, Martin, Schreiber, JRod/Brasier)
  5. Heard this B4.
  6. Pablo Lopez extended for 4 years at $73.5M by the Twins.
  7. Stanton out 4-6 weeks.
  8. Somehow avoiding a run scored.
  9. Some soft makeup hits for the line out by Kike with the bases jammed.
  10. Maybe someday he can use his speed to makeup for his shortcomings, but I think you are right: slightly below average might be his ceiling on D, and that might be a couple seasons away. With Duran, his offense needs to carry him.
  11. We deserve a windblown double after that!
  12. I love watching games at Fenway, and the experience is unmatchable. That being said, the seats are uncomfortable, too narrow, and too many down the RF line face CF and not the diamond.
  13. Bello's first season was last year. Pray all you want: it ain't changing.
  14. There was a lot of changeover in players under Theo, too. Winning helps people get over those sorts of things. I remember posters complaining about losing so many players from the 2004 team, and that was after several posters complaining about trading Nomar during the 2004 season. The 2013 team bore just about zero resemblance to the 2007 team and even the 2011 and 2012 teams, but that was fun as hell to watch, right? If we start winning again, it will mean players are doing well, and will be liked by fans. We have a lot of players under team control for 3-4 or more years. Once they prove themselves, I think those craving stability will be okay. It has been a whirlwind, for sure.
  15. These morning after day games are so tiring!
  16. Yes, I'm Mr. Gloom & Doom. You sure pay attention.
  17. At FCL/Salem in 2022, he had a .438 OBP with 14BB and 11 Ks and 24 Hits in 76 ABs. In college, he had a .440 OBP with 40 BB and 25Ks in 228 ABs.
  18. Kinda knew he'd get at least one more look in the bigs. I hope, this time, he impresses.
  19. While I do think Duran deserves another chance to show he make it in the bigs, I do not have much optimism he can stick. I like seeing Kike in CF, rather than SS, but Chang is such a drag on the O, it's hard to continue with him as our FT SS for another 6+ weeks. It sucks losing Martin, and I hope his shoulder inflammation is not going to be an ongoing issue, but it is worrisome. One step up and two steps back.
  20. Some, with noodle arms, make a mess of them.
  21. Top OPS on the Farm 1.134 Meidroth 1.094 Hamilton (Renfroe trade) 1.058 Sogard .955 C Rosier (Groome trade) .938 Dearden .900 Jimenez .887 Sikes .879 Dalbec .875 Alfaro .875 McElveny .868 Coffey .844 Rosario .834 Goodrum .829 Yorke .800 CHamilton .794 Hickey .792 Duran .761 Ravelo .747 Ferguson (Groome trade) Others... .718 Anthony .717 Bleis .678 Binelas (Renfroe trade) .660 Mayer .622 EValdez (Vaz trade) .620 Kavadas .578 Rafaela .307 Abreu (Vaz trade) OPS Against (4+ IP) .227 Bolden .277 Denlinger (Wallace trade) .316 Van Belle .321 Landry .337 Rogers .339 Drohan Others... .420 de la Rosa (Beni trade) .541 N Dean .557 Paez .570 Wikelman .570 Whitlock .608 Bello .665 Paxton .678 Walter .686 Webb .976 E R-C .977 Feltman .987 Broadway 1.048 Politi 1.369 Perales 1.437 Murphy (worst in system)
  22. Once hit, they don't go very far, but are impossible to field, cleanly.
  23. Great list, and really just part of a very long list of some weird stuff.
  24. The Sox are 8-9. There are currently 13 teams with better records, including 4 just 1 game better. It's interesting to see this... 8-8 Boston 8-8 LAD 8-8 SEA 8-9 SDP 7-9 HOU 7-9 STL 6-10 PHI
  25. Those 99 pitches were 15 more than his previous MLB career high, as well. My guess is, his next start will be 65-75 pitches. Man, he looked as sharp as ever!
