  1. I do think playing him in LF a few games makes more sense than SS, but if we ever need him at SS in an emergency, it gods he got one game in. (If he does end up at SS, we may wish he played more.)
  2. The only real concern is MLB v AAA.
  3. It would if it was. It’s not. So, it’s not.
  4. So, we no longer need the RHd OFer you argued for, last year? To me, if Tapia and Ref’s splits were reversed, I’d be for Tapia, hands down.
  5. Agreed. I do worry about Sale overthrowing out of sheer competitiveness, so maybe opening day might add to that possibility. I don’t see starting game 2 as a big deal, though, and he may face easier starters for the first few starts.
  6. I believe since 2020, but certainly 2021 and 2022. I remember there being a debate after Cora stated he would not platoon Dugo. I’m not sure a full platoon is needed, and we had nobody, early last season, but vs tough lefties, I think he should sit.
  7. Career OPS: Tapia .709 .684 v LHP Refsnyder .676 .728 v LHP It seems we have 3-4 OFers who do well v LHPs and better vs LHPs than RHPs, so Ref looks like the better choice. I do recall a couple posters roasting Bloom for neglecting the need for a RH’d hitting OFer, last year.
  8. I’ve said that about Dugo for years.
  9. The opening day pressure on Kluber must be immense! Is he thankful that Cora placed him in such a pressure cooker? (can’t put in green from my phone.)
  10. Ref did have a .784 OPS v lefties in 2021, so maybe 2022 was not such a fluke. I’m cautiously optimistic and think he earned a long look for 2023. I like Tapia, too, but STing numbers should not be enough to displace Ref, IMO.
  11. Maybe Yoshida to DH and Turner to 1B to make room for Ref and sit Casas.
  12. Starting Dalbec in AAA is easy. It’s the 40 man slot that is more of an issue, although it seems like it’s not that hard. Ort, Ort, Ort seems to be the easy choice, but it never seems to happen. There is also the Alfaro situation. Maybe some one goes on the 60 to make room.
  13. Last year, it was Fitzy.
  14. Good to see Pivetta turn it around.
  15. Not you. If Dalbec might be forced to play SS, again this year, playing him one game in STing is not something to read too much into. (Not that you are, personally.)
  16. Opening day is getting closer and closer. I’m getting pumped up.
  17. Koss has no chance to make the 26. This isn’t about winning a STing game. It’s about seeing if Bobby Dee might be an emergency, 1 game or partial game back up at SS.
  18. We did sign up more 2 or more year deals than 1’s, button most were 2 year or second year option deals, so our roster continuity only slightly improved.
  19. As of right now, who do you think the opening 13 man staff will be?
  20. Dumped just in time! Lol
  21. Just in case anyone forgot. 😉
  22. And vets. All in all most of our vets and kids have looked promising.
  23. I’m still not so sure Bogey would have taken a “reasonable deal,” and we are not really sure how much “reasonable” would have been. I’m also thinking the Sox did not want to pay him what any of us felt was that “reasonable” amount. I’m not even sure they would have given him what Story got, had Bogey said that was all he wanted.
  24. I think MVP has spoken of Mata and the pen, often.
  25. The Giants have also had many lacklustre years along the way- just not last to first to last like the Sox do so often.
