  1. There must be at least 50 shades of Gray, as well as 50 ways to leave your borderliner.
  2. One year of Peralta, but maybe they extend him.
  3. I seems better on D than the metrics show, but I don't think they can be that wrong.
  4. That must have been hard for you to say, even jokingly! 🤪
  5. BTV rejected Crawford & DHam for Paredes! LOL! (Major overpay, when I took DHam out.) Other trades accepted: Bello for Paredes and B King Bello & Sandlin for Paredes, Sousa & Janek Bello, Hicks & $6M for Paredes & Abreu Campbell & Sandlin for Paredes
  6. I think Paredes has a better OPS than Bregman & Bichette in 2026 and maybe even Alonso & possibly Schwarber.
  7. Thanks for the breaking front page news. On the back pages: Sox made room to sign another bum pitcher.
  8. Anthony has our top projected OPS at .801. (#36 in MLB)
  9. It's not a good thing to have your top wRC+ projected player be #38 (Anthony at 122,) but what may be worse is that your second guy is #80 (Contreras at 115.) 114 Abreu is at #90, so he barely gives us 3 in the top 90 (38, 80, 90) 110 Yoshida at #114 gives us 4 in the top 120, which is the norm. 107 Duran is at #150, which give us exactly the norm of 5 in 150. We need help on O. The Yanks just brought Bellinger back.
  10. ...and it's not really possible for great batters to get more PAs by a manager's choice. As great as Papi was, I found myself thinking, I'm so glad Pedro, or Schilling, or Beckett, Lester or Sale as being more comforting than hoping Papi can get up one more time with the winning runner on base.
  11. Today's trade bringing us catcher depth. 2nd choice is a distant but thrilling presser when we signed him.
  12. Some notable wRC+ projections for 2026: 1. Judge 172 2. Soto 165 11. KMarte 136 15. Schwarber 133 21. Alonso 130 29. Devers 125 & Paredes (wanna talk replacing Devers?) 38. Anthony 122 & Bichette 41. Bregman 121 62 Donovan 117 69. Polanco 116 & Bellinger 75 Contreras 115 & Vientos 85. Abreu 114 90. Chisholm 113 & Casas/Okamoto 100 G Torres 112 105 Bogey 111 110 Yoshida 110 130. Meidroth 108 & E Suarez/B Baty 140. Hoerner 107 & Duran 155. Teel 106 175. M Shaw 104 & Romy
  13. I do agree that his wRC+ projection is better than anyone on the Sox is reason enough to make the trade happen-- like-- YESTERDA!
  14. I think they just plan on everyone getting hurt for 50 games.
  15. $162M/5 is almost Bregman money. With no deferrals it might be worth more.
  16. In terms of DRS and OOA, yes, close. DRS Rafaela +1/ Romy -1 Okay, Not super close OAA Rafaela 0/ Romy -1 (in 123 more innings) very close. I'd pull out Flg% but then I'd be a hypocrite. 91 assists & 43 POs in 288 innings Romy 34 assists & 35 POs in 165 innings Ceddanne
  17. Regurgitation is not appealing. That being said, we do need a stronger offense to think of ourselves as top contenders. We agree on that, for sure.
  18. Romy was not bad vs RHPs in 2025, either. He was the same as Rafaela v R, so he might be better at 2B, in theory- full time. They both had similar DRS and OAA at 2B.
  19. Nope. 7.3 Judge's est fWAR Yanks 47.4 TOR 46.5 BOS 44.2 BAL 43.1 (just 4.3 from NYY)
  20. They also have these projected games 111 Roman (122 wRC+) 105 Contreras 115 100 Abreu 114 99 Story 92
  21. Unless we have a 1B or DH injury, Romy is better at 2B than Rafaela, when factoring O+D.
  22. I think you have to consider that when you have a great pitcher on the mound, he faces every batter, while in the game. That is an enormous value. A great batter might get 3-5 chances, buy he can also be pitched around. I know you are talking about all batters vs all pitchers, so PAs for the offense are in general close to PAs against, so it seems "equal," but I feel having great pitchers, because the face all batters, seem to matter more. Of course, offense matters, and it matters, a lot, but when we have Crochet on the mound, I'm not worried about the opps O.
  23. ...and if Romy gets hurt, they do? Just razzin' you!
