    it's borderline criminal that cashman did not pickup a #1 type SP for this years playoff/WS push. criminal. if i were a yankees fan i would be up in arms.....but since i am not i can just sit back and giggle at the ineptitude....

    if we finish outside of at least the WC playin game is Cora in jeopardy at all? or does he get a free pass this year based on the 2018 parade? I think his job is safe but his seat will be set to "warm" at the start of 2020 campaign......

    what a difference a year makes. going to have to fight to make it in this year. 53 games to go. ALE: NYY TB 7.5 BOS 10 WC: CLE +2.5 TB - OAK 0.5 BOS 2.5 need to leapfrog 2 teams to get the 2nd WC spot. need a miracle to get the ALE title. Me? i have NOT given up hope on the division. i most certainly believe we can be one of the 2 teams in the playin game to get to ALDS. Time to go on a W streak. Time for the SP to STEP UP! who's with me?

    this game was very very very very very....disappointing. really the only enjoyment was watching DD take egg on the face after his "interview" stating why they stood pat at the deadline. pretty sure it is a rule that the team HAS to win after you make proclamations like that.

    i dont know about that. WTF says pitchers will be better with lack of ST....still awaiting evidence of that but that was the mantra all spring....

    we did offer him the QO though? it was close to $20MM

    well there are always "many plays". but that play was enormous. perhaps you disagree. BR win probability had that play as a +17% win probability play. a double digit shift for a defensive play is....enormous. the only other play that had a higher percentage in that entire game was the JBj 2 run dinger in the 6th inning to put us in the lead. but defensive plays there is nothing close to the +17% beni catch.

    houston > LA. i agree we still could win that game. or we could win the series 4-2 or 4-3. or lose 4-2 or 4-3. any of those things could have happened. beni making that catch completely changed the series. instead of 2-2 game 5 in houston it was 3-1 and they were DOA. IMO.

    fair. would you say LF defense was unimportant in last years ALCS? me? i would make an argument that we dont even make the WS if that catch isnt made....
