one has a lot more chances than the other. a couple more errors for the ursuala in those missing chances puts devers out in front bigly. it is a false narrative to claim ursuala is a better fielder. but i guess that should be expected from the esteemed non troll excellent poster jacksonianmarch.

you both mention travis and marco. i consider both of them as "regulars" now. why on earth marco was ever sent down to begin with is just stupid. there is no white flag with either of them in the lineup IMO. Mitch is always 1 swing away from DL and chavis is on the IL.

I am seeing many posts in other threads where it seems a lot of people have completely thrown in the towel on this season. so I am wondering - who believes we still have a chance to win the division? i do not. who believes we still have a chance to make the playin game? i do. at this point i am very much against "bringing up the kids" to see what they got. 2 reasons: A. we are still in the hunt. only 2 teams to leapfrog. forget bringing up the kids - we shouldnt even be having "rest days" for our regulars. and #2. we dont really have any "kids" that are exciting to bring up. there is no one...literally NO ONE in AAA currently being "blocked". please stop with the "bring up the kids now" nonsense. that is what september is for if we are completely out of the running. the 20 game win streak starts RIGHT NOW.

yeah...sam travis is who i meant. i do that all the time with travis shaw. sell high on Chavis (even though high was a few months ago). the team will not suck for 3 years minimum. after next year we have Betts back and take a look at the FA class for 2021. or...we could not reset and not trade anyone and still suck for the next 3 years with all the players we currently have. and have a bottom 5 farm. that would be the DD plan. PASS.....

under Slasher9's plan we are under the LT for next season. we are back the following year with a top ten farm and plenty of cash to spend.

well the "reset" still allows for a $200MM payroll. we wont have the 1998 Marlins on the field. but yes, our 2 vaunted starting pitchers will be another year older. thats what happens with LT contract signings. you eventually pay the piper. at least the piper afforded a parade after one of the seasons......

he allowed DD to spend up to the final threshold. DD blew that $$ on a backup 1bman and an injury prone starter. mistakes. 1 we all knew at that time and 1 in hindsight. that said, JH was going to let DD spend up to the final penalty to try and get a repeat parade. that didnt work so now we will get the reset after this season instead of a year later. IMO.

he will reset for one year and then the horses can be let out of the barn again for a few seasons. he's done this before.
