  1. Rutledge is a .721 vs LHP. i'll go with Panda. obviously when Panda needs a blow it will be when LHP is starting. but i dont think he should be strict platoon. IMO.
  2. i dont think he should be. i am feeling a great year coming from our lovable 3bman. no platoon necessary.
  3. sure Kimmi. we all knew how Game 2 of the 2016 ALDS was going to play out. i dont think anyone of us were surprised with 3.1 IP & 5ER for that bright lights/big moment/ must win game. wilters wilt. we all knew it was going to happen. is that random? is that luck? the earth has to spin. the sun has to rise. death has to death and taxes have to be collected. and of course...chockers gotta chock.
  4. another example of how our $31MM man's "pride" is getting in the way of helping our team. why not rule it out and chat with a psychologist? Hopefully this postseason JF will listen to me and have price pen only for the postseason. did the reporters ask a followup question.....what side of his game does he attribute his lack of success in the postseason? would love to hear his answer for that.
  5. also...i just realized..... The World Series ended in Game 7 extra innings. The Super Bowl ended in Overtime. NBA finals went 7 Games. (NHL blew it....only went 6 games)....
  6. Pablo will play 145+ games at 3b this season. he will not be platooned. count on it.
  7. and that is a fair label. what do you label players that are great during regular season but their postseason or clutch numbers are below (or way below) "average"?
  8. why are you posting this? it's not going to prevent anyone from posting their thoughts on the subject. it is the purpose of the board. im just wondering where you think this is going to lead.
  9. Notin, i'm not sure how this turned into TB12 and whether or not he is considered "clutch". i simply used the 4th quarter of the super bowl as an example of "momentum" after i had asked kimmi if she believed in momentum. this really is a separate discussion than "clutch". again, personally i can only grant a FG kicker "clutch" in football. every other position requires 10 other men. as for Tom Brady...at least we can all agree that he is the greatest of all time. of that, there is no further discussion required.
  10. i never called TB12 clutch. i simply stated that the patriots had momentum in the 4th quarter.
  11. for the most part i agree with this 100%. i just happen to label those that have a lot of them as "clutch".
  12. sorry, i never heard that label on Bledoe so wont comment on it. i know that the 96 super bowl he played pretty darn well. if not for a kickoff return for a TD (that changed the momentum) i 100% believe the Patriots would have won that game. football is such a team sport it is hard to label anyone "clutch". i would refer to a kicker or a FG as "clutch". but it's not like baseball where a batter is on an island to himself and can let his "clutchness" shine.....
  13. it wasnt a fourth down play. TB12 probably hits White for a 15 yarder on the next play......
  14. i throw at least 5 times a week spring-Fall but i am down in NJ. have you ever thought about getting into coaching a local team?
  15. fair enough. i can agree that many will see it that way as well.
  16. Notin, i didnt say anyone on the patriots was "clutch". i was only referring to momentum when talking about football.
  17. no. not everyone. and you and i both know that hitting a baseball is a fail endeavor. you fail 7 out of 10 times and you are an All Star and make $20MM a year. in the moment it is a clutch hit. what makes someone (Ortiz) a clutch hitter is that they have repeated the clutch hit.
  18. To you there is no doubt that there is a big difference. And that is fine. To slasher the difference is non existent. And that should be fine as well.
  19. Personally I only have to go back a few weeks to see momentum as predictive. The 4th quarter of the super bowl.
  20. I'm assuming you meant "many" public schools. this is simply not true. you are trying alternative facts.
  21. will he chock in the postseason like price? or will his poison prevent us from even making the postseason?
  22. do you have a clue how many citizens of the United States of America go to bed hungry?
  23. I follow him on IG. he has been working very hard for the past 6 months. I cannot confirm his entire life but he def looks like he is in the best shape in many years. his current shape is closer to an "i" than an "o".
  24. also...clutch is a word. we say it all the time. i bet even those that dont believe in "clutch" use it. when Bill Mueller's groundball went up the middle in the bottom of the 9th on 17-Oct-2004 i guarantee you said to yourself "that was a clutch hit". i very much doubt in the moment you said to yourself "that was a lucky hit". “Love is just a word, the reality is the connection it implies.”
