    the second that happens i will call that player FT. would you call either Vaz or Leon FT? i guess i would call both of them FT if i had to label them. if nunie and pedroia split 2b 2/3 games every 5 i guess i would call them both FT. but if he rotates positions giving various players blows i am sticking with "sub". or maybe "reliever". relief player.

    this is the exact definition of a sub. you can refer to it as a "super" sub if you want. but it's still a sub.

    meh. that FA class at 1b doesnt excite me. and yes, Travis. hopefully he grows into a power guy in the next year and can take the role fulltime in 2019. also, FTR i am a big Hanley supporter. i hope he performs well next year. if he vests, he vests. i would bet he doesnt though....

    unless he work out a deal before announcing the claim GM's will be hesitant because it sends a clear signal to your current players that you want to replace them.

    what position are you giving to him? unless he has a position with his name on it by definition he is a sub.

    Moon - any "stud" first baseman will be FA after 2018 season? i would be OK with going hanram/shaw at 1st next year if need be and then make a splash at that position the following year when hanley is off the books (assuming he doesnt vest)...

    you just cant predict what would have happened for the entire game if one play changes early on. CC/Sanchez most def have a different sequence with 1st and 3rd no out. the outcome is not predictable. y'all need to watch some Star Trek and learn on alternate timelines.....
