  1. Link? that sounds like an interesting article.
  2. would prefer not to participate in the playin game and instead go straight to the playoffs. plus finishing 2nd to the MFY will really really piss me off.
  3. fair post and point taken.
  4. Jose might be heading towards NE.....
  5. this is a trick question, right? nunez.
  6. im not sure about "big part". Hanley has played in 121 games. 5th most on the team. well ahead of gritty pedroia and his 92 games played.... as far as i can tell...gritty pedroia missed games because his vagina was sore from throwing teammates under the bus. i dont recall seeing any ligament damage, broken bones, or concussion protocols.....
  7. lets say the Sox go 10-9 for the remainder of the season. the MFY would need to go 13-6 to tie us. right now we are 87.2% to win the division. although at one point in the 3rd QTR of the last Super Bowl the Falcons were at 99.9% to win the game. fudge. let's win tonight. please.
  8. that's because Pedroia takes time off and goes on DL for his bumps and bruises. X-Bo & HanRam play through theirs....
  9. From an earlier post: btw - Max - i am trying to figure out if you want to keep JF or fire him. i know i reached my limit a couple months ago and am firmly planted in fire JF with no going back. i feel like you have been flip-flopping for a few weeks. where you at on this?
  10. my bad. it's very confusing what stats i am supposed to believe are important and which stats i am supposed to negate. but yes....gaining 90' without making an out > making an out. but...what about gaining 90' with the possibility of making an out vs staying put with 0 chance of making an out? FTR - i believe the 3 hitter is the MOST important hitter in the lineup. no post on a forum by a person in the history of the internets will change my opinion of that.....
  11. wasnt there another thread that stated that the #3 hitter should be your worst hitter? also, another one that stated that it statistically makes zero difference who bats where in the batting order and that you can literally just pick the names out of a hat? also, another one that stated that stolen bases are meaningless? btw - Max - i am trying to figure out if you want to keep JF or fire him. i know i reached my limit a couple months ago and am firmly planted in fire JF with no going back. i feel like you have been flip-flopping for a few weeks. where you at on this?
  12. not scairt. 2007 rockies won 461 games in a row before getting buzz sawed by the Sox in the WS.....
  13. divide & conquer. the playbook of the 1%ers for centuries. works to perfection.
  14. Before Youk puts an end to the thread let me throw this out there.... The BDC site allowed political posts so many of my longtime friends from there know exactly where my ideology lays. That said….since the craziness of 45 I have had many conversations with all of my friends…some of whom are leftist commies and some of whom are righty Nazis and most of whom are somewhere in the middle (please note the commies and Nazis references were only in jest and not intended be taken seriously). The one thing that all have come to agree on is that 45 is really f***ing up our country. There certainly was high hope early on that this new president would “shake things up” in a good way (or a great way). As the months have gone by each has realized and admitted in conversation that it is a terrible situation we find ourselves in as a country with this guy as the president. Now many of them will certainly toe the party line and support him publicly because they cannot bear to have any left leaning policies shown the light of day. As I have come to respect all of you (OK…most) on here I do wonder if anyone still has the passion to fully support 45. And if so…why? i am struggling to find a reason to support our president and even the times where my "party" hasn't held office i have always supported the president. its what we do as Americans. but it seems like that "we should support our President" philosophy changed during the dubya years and without a doubt during Obama's presidency....
  15. .870 OPS cant pull up the entire lineup. Plus, alot of those numbers from 2013 were so far and above the back of the players card. 2013 was the enigma. see: boston marathon bombing, Boston Strong, this is our bleeping cits, 617.....
  16. me neither. but it sure looks that way.
  17. to me it's "Exhibit A" how a HoF hitter can "protect" the lineup. apparently its not just "random"....
  18. lol.
  19. UPDATE. 19 GAMES TO GO. 81-62 Currently we are in 1st place in the division. FanGraphs odds to win the division: 90.0% 3.5 Games ahead of MFY (3 in the loss column).
  20. it was completely called for. your on a rafael devers thread waxing how the yankees are going to be almighty next year. you sound like the pre-2004 Red Sox fan. "just wait until next year"..... the hammer has turned into the nail.....
  21. Confetti cannons Only if it's the walk off scoring run...
  22. Lol. Enjoy the playin game troll...
  23. There was no indisputable evidence that his foot actually touched the plate. Hence they had to go with the call on the field. They should sensor the plate to light up when contacted....and robot umps.
  24. Where in Fairfield county? I grew up in Stamford.... My dad was a Brooklyn fan as well. He was in limbo for a minute after the move to lala land before hooking on to the mets. I just couldn't and have always loved our Sox...
  25. I'm worried about the dogs.
