  1. One major issue, TJS (2010) and some very minor other issues. He's in his prime. 6 seasons, 59-37, 3.06 Career ERA, AS, 242 K (2014) tied for first in Ks that season. He's 5-0 w/ a 2.36 ERA thus far this year. $25M per year is pretty standard at the moment for a TOTR SP.
  2. Maybe he should, sometimes that helps:cool:
  3. I'm talking about his typical first 50 or so games. We aren't there yet, so yes, he is on his way.
  4. I agree ... only His BA & OBP will look strong by the end of June.
  5. I don't start judging Betts until around the 50 game mark. He's batting .246... .004 higher than last season at this time. He's already well on his way to hit more HR, steal more bases, net more RBI, and score more runs than his first two seasons around this time. He's on track to do what he does, but just like last year around this time, his stats aren't jumping off the page so somehow some people think theres somekind of problem. There isn't.
  6. Strasburg no longer an option after signing a 7 yr $175M extension. The '16-'17 FA market just got alot weaker. Its looking like we only solve our TOTR woes via trade and thats probably Swihart & Devers & etc...
  7. My bad (abt Saunders). Point is ... teams fall off. I do doubt Toronto or any In-division trade would happen even at the deadline. Too bad cause a team like Toronto has Bautista, Encarnacion and .. now evidently Saunders up in the air at seasons' close.
  8. I'd like to sure-up LF mid-way through atleast. Astros are 12-20 & Colby Rasmus cld be availabe and is a 2016-2017 Free Agent. CarGo also falls within these parameters. We of course have to wait on other teams' success or lack there of. Michael Saunders if Sea falls off perhaps? Raja Davis maybe? I think Texas really like what they've gotten from Desmond and W/ Darvish ready in a few weeks they look too competive to me. Fowler is having a great season for the Cubbies and they're obvisiously looking at the Post Season, so he's out. Anyone see any '16-'17 FA OFers that could help us at the trade deadline that wouldn't cost us major prospects?
  9. "Other Guy"... Lol
  10. What can we expect from Clay tonight? Are his troubles, for the most part, behind him? I know he has trouble vs. Khris Davis & Josh Reddick, but are Josh Phegley & Mark Canha going to rip him a new one as well? What has anyone on here taken away from his last start vs the Chisox? He did pretty well there: 7 In, 3 H, 2 ER, 6 K, 2 BB. Ferrall says he's starting to pitch w/ " more conviction"... whatever that means. What says you?

  12. I mean swept? We already lost the series...
  13. I consider myself a patient man, but is it too much to ask for a QS atleast? Lose two games in row to the yanks because the ump in the first game doesn't know what a strike or a ball is, and the next game our $31MM SP forgot too. We really gonna lose this series just when i started feeling good about this team?
  14. Not sure I'd credit DD for Ross, but Kimbrel & Smith make our BP soo much deeper. DD wanted to focus on the BP and besides a few early hiccups w/ Kimbrel I think things should work out well.
  15. Yeah, we've really had (except once?) Price set up Wright instead of the other way around thus far, right? Ideally, I'd personally like à La Wake5th/Pedro1st as I seem to remember that working out well enough for us. Could be purely semantics on my part. Might not be a big deal at all.
  16. I don't see any major regression with Wright. Will he ever toss a bad game ever again? Sure, I'm positive he'll throw a stinker ever now and again just like every SP in the league. My expectation of Wright is compensated by how I view the 5th slot in any rotation and how he sets up the next SP after him when playing in the same series. Another good thing is that in Knuckleball years Wright is like 24 yrs old!
  17. G Boston is 9th in HRs, but leading in every other AL offensive category. Some by a lot. The MLB league average in OPS is .722. AL .712/NL .733. 1) Col .821 2) STL .816 3) Bos .799 4) Pit .797 5) ChiC .789 Boston is one of the only two AL teams in the top 10 in OPS w/ Bal 8th .766 Around the 20 game mark, Boston had ranked the best AL defense, not sure where they stand right now this second, but i haven't seen any red flags for me to question that yet either, so I'll go with it.
  18. Ross Jr reaching back and repeatedly hitting 95mph and catching enough of the plate w/ a rising FB ... Man, he seems unstoppable. We got Smith back now having already done his job a few nights before. Me happy
  19. Image from http://www.notesfromaztlan.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Ted-Williams.jpg. The red makes him pop. It's compressed on here, hence the lower picture quality. The original has the catcher & the ump. Simple google search for Ted Williams pics.
  20. Renteria should be mentioned here, maybe not thee worst, but I feel like it started the s*** ball rolling.................
  21. Have we had THAT much turnover since 2013? No Betts, Pedroia was probly on DL. Nap, Vic, wMB, etc all gone. Etc...
  22. Turns out we have faced Erik Johnson atleast once before. XB 0/3, JBJ 0/1, Hanigan 1/1, Papi 0/3. Must be hurt or sent down a lot. 2013 GS 5, 2014 GS 5, 2015 GS 6. This is his first GS for '16.
  23. Crit, I'm actually a big fan of the new Hanley. He's batting .284, 14 R, 2 HR, 16 RBI, 3 SB and his helmet stays on his head. It'll warm up soon enough and we'll start to see more natural (for lack of a better term) HRs. W/ Buchholz, we simply need quality Starts from him. No blow-ups. 5 1/3 - 6 Innings 2-run ball. Just keep us in it.
