  1. But I haven't seen anyone on here calling for a 'Traditional Lineup'.
  2. I don't overly care about where Sox rank in HRs. Most HRs seem to be solo shots anyway. Unless it's a walk-off or the half inning before, Solo HRs rarely make much difference in deciding a game. 3 solo shots by Texas last night didn't get the job done for them and we didn't hit any. The fireworks were nice though.
  3. Jhonny Peralta Watch: 4 G, 4 RBI, 18 AB, .222 BA, .600 BA vs LHP, .o77 BA vs RHP, .333 BA w/ Runners on, .400 BA w/ RISP Tha's all I got, not much of a sample size yet....
  4. In theory, He could also accept a trade if he's that unhappy as well. Fat chance, but it's possible.
  5. I like Josh Harrison idea better. Not sure how much he would cost in a trade though. ?
  6. Well, the Sox haven't lost 4 games in a row all season long. It's kinda hard to do, dare I say it, with Sale and 3-4 other capable SPs and the pitching staff as a whole, all the way down to Kimbrel. The team seems to be firing on all cylinders right now, but that's been their MO, they're a 2nd half team. Unless some devestating injury happens, I want to lean towards their history of past recent seasons. I never bought into Bal and NY being THAT good in the 1st place. TB could make a run for our money though.
  7. That's what I think as well. If he's REALLY UNHAPPY, he may walk.
  8. Oh, you bringin' in The Wolf?! That's all you had to say
  9. I agree. And the bats are starting to wake up. We're finally starting to beat-up our immediate competition in the AL East, sweeping Toronto. We're 3 games up on NYY. I agree, 3B quagmire isn't the ONLY reason for our struggles. Every team has holes, and 3B just happens to be one of ours. Doesn't mean we can't make do somehow. Like you said (& I've been keeping track as well), we have a better record than last season's team at this point. I can't complain about that.
  10. If Devers and Travis were years away, I could see DD trading them but they're just too close- w/ both corners in need, especially next season. Keeping Groome is also the smarter play. I hope we stand pat (to an extent). See if Peralta can show signs of life these next few weeks. Lin isn't hurting us and I loved those back-to-back bunts last night before Betts went yard. If that was Farrell's doing, I tip my cap. Team's bats are starting to wake up and it might be for good.
  11. 4 for 6, 2HRs, 8 RBI and we got him batting lead-off. It's ********, he should've had 12 RBI by my count.
  12. Then 4th then. I'll compromise.
  13. No, I'm actually backing up my opinion. It's you and some others that are clinging on to a theory that can't ever actually be proven unless you have a f***ing time machine. DO YOU have a time machine? If so, help me out..... I'd like to do Senior year over.
  14. Baseball IS random, but doubling down on RANDOM and claiming it's a statistical FACT leaves me extremely skeptical. Baseball is already random enough without making it MORE random. Pitchers randomly miss thier spot, randomly choose which pitch to throw even , and randomly throw bad pitches all the f***ing time. You don't need a random lineup as well to take advantage of this randomness. You're better off going by the ACTUAL NUMBERS and maximizing the lineup the best you can. Mookie Betts should NOT be leading-off.
  15. And even THAT took a long time. That didn't happen instantly. So I agree.
  16. I happen to think maximizing our lineup to get the most out of it is an important issue.
  17. Not I, that's for sure. One only has to look at Blue Jay's Justin Smoak to realize some players defy expectations and from out of nowhere have un-normally good or bad seasons.
  18. I guess we should all stop posting then
  19. at the begining of the year when NOBODY was hitting w/ RISP. Things change and moving Betts out of Lead-off is long over due
  20. I'm a casual observer of our farm and off the top of my head I think Longhi was somewhat redundant in our system
  21. I think I like it. Moon has pointed out several times how well the Sox have done internationally over the years vs MLB draft
  22. 0 men on base, he can only drive himself in. Tragic waste of resources
  23. that even legal? I hope we don' get penalized for "being the smartest person in the room" again LOL
