  1. Gotta agree with that, and I'm the one who called them wusses. These are the same guys who have scrapped in every game so far.
  2. I woulda left him, but I think you and Cora are right. Now if Hembree can just get one more out. He did!!!!
  3. Who's that masked man making a nice (not great) grab in LF?
  4. Good old Hembree, all fast balls all the time. They singled off one of them? I'll fix that with more fastballs.
  5. Speaking of frankenstein, one our bull pen frighteners just took the mound.
  6. What's that line from Young Frankenstein? It's Alive! It's Alive!
  7. An out, but a great swing by HanRam! Also, a tie game!
  8. Could be right, but no one on talksox said anything like that before the game started.
  9. That's two B player hits out of our three today.
  10. We just see baseball differently, I guess. So far this has not been a long game time-wise. As for missing A players, I understand Bogie and Betts are injured. Am I misinformed? Moreland has one of our two hits, a double, so hard to give him a B. And righty Nunez, I feel confident, would bring zippo to this lineup and not much more to the infield.
  11. I never find 1 run games boring.
  12. All Sox righties are helpless against that slider it seems, so Nunez is unlikely to have helped. JD and Hanley have already demonstrated their helplessness against Bundy.
  13. Bunch of wusses in the lineup today.
  14. Our righties are helpless against that slider.
  15. Somebody tell me again please just why Holt gets so much love and money and Lin is lucky to get into maybe 5 games a season? To me Holt has outlasted his usefulness because he's below average at 7 different positions and can't hit and is slow on the basepaths.
  16. Cora was right about one thing with this lineup. Our righty hitters seem mystified.
  17. Can't see anyone's face except Sale's.
  18. Fenway Park looks like a line from a sonnet--bare, ruined choirs. So my question is: where the heck are the faithful?
  19. I can only get the Orioles feed here in Fairfax Co, and they say the game will start on time.
  20. The woman field announcer is dressed for warmth--actually, maybe the arctic.
  21. Interesting lineup-- JBJ RF Beni CF Hanley DH JD LF Moreland 1B Devers 3B Vazquez C Holt 2B Lin SS If you're counting, that's 6 lefty bats vs. righty Bundy.
  22. Actually, that is the key. ILO a merit badge, Walden gets to stay on the big club because you better believe the manager and his pitching coach rely mostly on "who gets the job done and how it gets done."
  23. My NOAA map shows a whole lot of bad stuff headed toward Boston, but not how soon it will arrive.
  24. Agree with Kimmi (and her bold print comment). Well said. For whatever reason, Hanley seems reborn this year. He is hitting, and he is playing with enthusiasm. I really like the movie Money Ball, but it's about a team with basically no fan base and very little money. John Henry appreciates the value of statistics, but also that there is a different kind of Money Ball that can be played.
