  1. The star of yesterday's game, Duran, is not starting because he struggles against lefties. Eaton is in for him and has already singled.
  2. Both starters needed about 60 pitches to get through the first 2 innings, so this looks like a bullpen game and maybe ours is tired Nice 3d for Bello. 10 pitches, no runs.
  3. Still another hotshot rookie, also a lefty, coming in to face the Sox. You know what this team needs right now? A good DH. Do you know who had a hot August for the Giants?
  4. I'm glad the Sox dumped Buehler but can see why the Phillies want to give him a shot.
  5. I always liked Uehara. He only had the slow fastball and the nasty splitter, but he knew how to pitch and was great in the 2013 postseason.
  6. Yoshida still hits righties better than Ref or Hamilton. My guess is this will change when Abreu returns, should he ever return. It seems he has the tightest calf muscle in the history of medical science.
  7. You some kind of expert or something? Sox score 4 in the 5th plus an inside the park dinger by Duran.
  8. All true, but not lately. Abreu's recovery has been slow. Now 5 September at the earliest.
  9. finally, it's OK to say something nice about the defense. It's taken a long time. conse
  10. One timely double by Duran followed by a timely line drive out by Story. Anthony struck out on a curve well below the zone, his weak spot. Bregman pops up to maintain his slump.
  11. Since Gonzalez hit well in the last 2 games vs the Pirates, I guess I'm OK with him playing today-- Anthony, Bregman, Duran, Story, Lowe, Yoshida, Gonzalez, Rafaela, and Narvaez NESN just said the Sox have lost their last 5 home games. Nevertheless, in all 5 games attendance was over 36,000. g
  12. I'm not convinced Mayer will continue to ride the sick list. This wrist thing is a repeat because they didn't do surgery the first time. I'm glad you reminded me he is our best choice next season
