  1. Medium drama level...... but turned out ok
  2. Nice.... a lead..... I'm pretty sure me talking smack about Hanley made him mad so he hit a homerun. Thank me later.
  3. Is this a tryout game for Kelly. If he is bad, is he gone?
  4. Wasn't the Oakland series the last series we actually won? Wooo hoooo . . . . we found a team we can beat......... . . let's double down on these losers.....
  5. Oh man....... You have Kelly going tomorrow for your thread.....
  6. I like the Pedrioa - Holt, one - two at the beginning. Papi sitting and getting Hanley the f*** away from left field is a good thing for right now. Hopefully Papi gets it going..... Betts is looking like a rookie at bat. Or better yet he is figuring it out. Again, 10 more pounds of muscle, a year or two in the league and this guy will do damage. And may be a tough as out as Pedey. It feels like we like to take the first game........
  7. Not at all..... I think it's argued if Bean went for Lester to put them over the top, or to save the season as he saw something coming which is what he said. I forget the particulars..... but it was right around the Lester trade the offense went downhill. Bean had some explaining to do during the fall and at the end. Some players were talking about chemistry lost with the trade, but who knows. Cespedes was playing well that year, or at least driving in runs. Personally I'd chalk it up to don't mess with something good, but I have hindsight now. I also could never argue to add Lester to your rotation to make a playoff push.
  8. ahahahah . . . . tops the "if Swihart shot a cheeseburger down to third instead of a baseball he would have had it" line
  9. Thank........ Goodness!!!!!!!
  10. Spud...... just laughing that you called me on that so fast..... it would be tough to argue against that though....
  11. What, you have to declare which hand you will pitch to a batter with, and then pitch that side the whole at bat? Is that the same with batting? Would be much cooler if you could just go up there and do what you want to do.
  12. They have a tiny fan base and have been trying to move out of Oakland and go somewhere in the Bay area for years. They had plans for a new stadium near San Jose which would have helped, that must have fell through. They do pretty well for their budget. Last year the Lester deal sunk them from getting to the playoffs.
  13. Psalm 69 hasn't aged at all, still excellent. Check out Ministry's wiki. I lost them just after Psalm 69, but they have been putting out albums since then. Actually the wiki and their history is really interesting....
  14. Wait...... is that a thing now?? That is the plan going forward?
  15. Heck, Metallica is in town too (X Games), and their tickets are like $55. Good DP there, I didn't think they would spin that.
  16. Since I know some of you are headbangers.... Ministry plays in town this Sunday..... All psyched up to go..... but tickets are 70 bucks....... aint going to do it.
  17. Why was Papi sitting, or is it another night off from not hitting...... and getting H-Ram out of left?
  18. Pedroia trying to save this season single handedly
  19. This is crazy, but I actually feel more confident about this team than I did a few weeks ago. (succeeding in the weak ALE) We need a solid bullpen arm. We score less than 2 runs sometimes now, compared to every stinking game. The starting pitching is solid if it keeps going like this. Wright is exactly what we needed depending on offense getting going. E-Rod is exactly what we needed. The D was a s*** show today...... and tough to swallow....... I'm hanging in a couple more weeks before flying the white flag.....
  20. ahahah....... why not. I'm all in. Let's just hire the Jamaican bob-sled team and DFA our current team.
  21. So I'm watching the 9th inning because I want to see what went wrong and I'm a masochist. Swihart plays that ball like a panther..... then throws low....... Sandoval should have had it....... Koji's splitter not dipping at all. Can't say it was his fault...... but he wasn't dominant..... and he wasn't dominant against Texas..... I wish Hanley got as pissed off at himself as he does in the batters box when he does something wrong, as when he does something wrong in the field. I in no way think transitioning to an outfield position in the MLB is easy. But if I was Farrell, I would have a long talk to Hanley about what a complete player is, and what makes a great player, and how to help the team. (this is my caveat, I am taking a rather large dislike to Hanley and may talk s*** excessively about him to the point where I seem obsessed. Please internet slap me if you find I do that. But I'm really not liking him much) On a positive note........ We just threatened a streaking hot first place team and made them s*** their pants....... and the Sox are seriously looking way better than they did a few weeks ago. Now we may be talking about breaking out of the funk up until game 161, but the play lately, the hitting lately, the pitching lately....... had been at least promising.... I'm a dreamer...
  22. that guys cheese must have slid off his cracker a long time ago....
  23. I almost find myself not blaming the coaching staff on this. At this point in a players career, you either have it or don't. I look at Hanley, and I think no matter how much you coach him, he will never do the fundamentals well. I think when we picked him up, we knew what he was. Did anyone see Hanley play short? That must have been an adventure....
