  1. The offense is out of the funk I believe. The second half they should rake. May was an enigma for the offense....... what are the odds they do that again. But this rotation needs help. With Buch another good starter might have done it. Now, who knows.
  2. Fair enough........ I'll give you one cause it's your birthday........ but don't make it a habit..... it pisses me off.... Happy Birthday.... You act like you know it all just like a teenager.... so congrats on being what........ 16 or 17?? I'm joking UN......... Happy Birthday...
  3. I have this analogy I'm going to use that almost equates to building a team. It's almost how car dealers try to get money from you. They want to make as much money as they can off you. Kind of like how you want to build a good team. Car dealers can get you on the price of the car. Or they can get you on the trade in. Or the financing. And last, but not least, they can get you on the warranty. They will sacrifice not making money on one if the buyer has a strong opinion on getting a good deal on that aspect. But they will push hard on another aspect to get the money they didn't make from the one they gave in to. Building a team can be very much like this. You will have strong points already on your team, and you need to go and get what will compliment them. Sometimes a team will need to go in a direction such as offense, and maybe not throw away the farm on pitching. So I get the strong offense and mediocre pitching thing. But dang....... the offense blew it the first half of this year. And the pitching is in ....... a ....... disarray right now......... and needs CPR.
  4. First off......don't lecture me......... I get you. The strategy was alright..... You can build a team many ways that will win. The goal is to be better than the opponents. It can be done by incredible offense and lousy defense. Or incredible defense and mediocre offense........... It can be built many ways and rarely are all facets top notch. So..... I agree with you. It was the execution. I just think the players we got, and over valuing some players on our roster wasn't executed correctly. So maybe the FO's execution didn't work. Add to the mix they didn't see the downfall of Nap and Ortiz, and totally blew it on the rotation..........
  5. Sorry..... it's a habit I've gotten from correcting my wife........ it will happen again............ it's done with respect...
  6. Two things....... The bullpen might be solved. Masterson and Kelly. Thinking our stellar defense was going to help the pitching kind of blows my mind. What is stellar about Hanley in right, somebody and possibly Craig in Right. Betts who is an infielder in center. Along with Xander who we had no idea would be good or not. Add Sandoval who was never a great fielder........ I keep hearing about our stellar defense that was supposed to prevent runs........ how was that calculated to become stellar.
  7. The offense was suppose to hit like crazy, but it didn't The rotation and bullpen was supposed to be mediocre, but it wasn't. The defense was suppose to be good, but is hasn't been. There are only two pitchers left from the original starting 5, and one has or had the worst ERA in the league now or until recently.
  8. We are f***ed.........
  9. Let's get these bastards tomorrow too..................
  10. Long man is the word so far. Have a great time at the game..
  11. There's a good base to this team. We won't see some of the really good talent leave, without coming back some really good talent. We are a few pieces away from being a dominate team with the young nucleus we have and the overpaid screw jobs we have.....
  12. gotta take the next two....
  13. We'll, I always prepare myself mentally for the worst out of a Yankee series. And many times the outcome far exceeds the worst I could conjure up in my mind. And again....... it was worse than I thought could be....
  14. ahahah...... yea....... someone get that man a handkerchief.
  15. Just one of those games where the Yanks are slowly ripping the jugular out of our neck while we watch.
  16. THey were doing that for a while....... not sure why they stopped. I think he started to look like he was getting the swing back.
  17. Good job Ross....... Gotta get runs quickly...........
  18. If he gets 425 bats he is back on the team for next year.
  19. Oh Man....... this isn't good.
  20. I get it, I do. I didn't think Ortiz would go the entire half the season there, I did mention Holt playing first too. Let me flip this around though. Do you think Papi should never play first base due to these issues? How about if we were to play a playoff game? Personally I think Papi at first right now with the team as it is, with him being at first is when the team is the strongest.
  21. OK OK .... I'm convinced. Can't say that I agree Papi does everything for the team to win. He has his "me first" moments sometimes. Also can't say that I agree 38 is too old to play first. I guess it depends on body type and if you have kept yourself in shape, which he hasn't. And that's probably a lot due to not being asked to play first for extended periods of time in many years. I get it though, he's Papi and he hits and hits well. Yea, placing him in a position where there is a chance he could get hurt is a bad idea. I guess my eyes just lit up with the thought of getting Hanley out of left and getting Napoli out of the batters box.
  22. Ahahahahah , Farrell said that???? I've heard many versions of "Hanley Suck at Left", but that's a new and very creative one.
  23. Yea...... it was!!!! It was close to getting out of hand there in the 4th. But....... the line score was alright.
