Sure, people learn at different rates. Sure, he may be a success next year. People adapt at different rates, sure. But he showed very little baseball instincts so far. And I've lived in different countries and moved around a bit. The one thing that isn't different in another country is the game on the field. He had a long long time he didn't play ball. He has raw power and skill. He may start hitting the ball like Hanley, and we would forget about his non instinct baseball mind. But that looks a way off right now.....

I feel like I want to puke when I write this....... but Hammels and Papelbon would give us a very good chance this year. Although I may be forgetting other teams in the ALE are going to get some help too...... And I hate Papelbon

Just answering the opening topic question. Porcello is the biggest problem on the Sox. Then Masterson, then Kelly...... then Napoli......

I agree..... unless there is some kind of amazing trade. But at 13 mil the next two year.......... that has to be a really good return we get...... REALLY GOOD.

Playing baseball has nothing to do with speaking the local language, or understanding how to tip, or figuring out the train station. Playing on the diamond is playing on the diamond. I in no way agree him moving to the USA and having difficulty dealing with the change makes him not know how to play outfield. On the other hand..... not playing for more than a year might mess up your timing........... but not your instincts. He should have had a year in AAA....... there was no reason to bring him up.........

You didn't look at his stats did you??????? He had to up battle his era giving up 7 runs in 2 innings on his second game... since then he has been better than a #5 pitcher....... no way is he a number 5.

Come on...... he got blasted a couple games early in the season. He's done alright lately....... He's not terrible, we don't pay him to be an ace........ he's gutted out some games recently and done better than I thought he would.
