  1. Where are all these teams that are going to trade a #2 starter in April? We have what we have until June. E-Rod better be as good as some think he is.
  2. The only problem with this is he hasn't yet "carried his eating habits into his thirties". He's 29. I don't know what his issue is and unlike most people, I wont presume to know, but he definitely needs hepl of some kind. Whatever he's doing on his own, as far as conditioning goes, isn't working. I agree that if the Sox throw all their resources at him and his condition doesn't improve, he's not going to see a ML field this year.
  3. Positive developements? Where's the fun in that? Fans seem to put too much emphasis on what "number" a pitcher is in the rotation. If they help the team win on any given day, I don't care if they're the #12 guy in the rotation. It's too bad the Sox couldn't take advantage of Wright's good outing. Swihart had a tough time handling some of his pitches, unfortunately. Hopefully, Swihart can improve on that, or perhaps Hannigan can do a better job.
  4. Yup, the Celtics are a fun team to watch, even if they don't have much of a chance past the first round of the playoffs. The Bruins are a train wreck. The Celtics are a young team on the way up. Who knows about the Bruins.
  5. Yup, it would cost the Sox a lot to trade Pablo. But, it's still cheaper than DFAing him, which most people here seem to expect. I don't see a trade happening because I don't see Shields being a large enough upgrade over what the Sox already have in the rotation.
  6. I'm trying to figure out when making money became such an assault on the masses. I'd be worried about the Sox if they were not trying to make money.
  7. Or, maybe the issue is that he was.
  8. 80% of stats are made up...
  9. LOL It's a crying shame you're not writing comedy for a network. Or, a stand up comedian who's own material sucks.
  10. And not a single comment in reply. Go figure... The OFC live for screw ups, evidently.
  11. Nice to know Keith Foulke isn't the same miserable guy he was in '04 and '05. There were reports about how he really didn't like the game, and his "Johnny from Burger King" comment was the last straw for a lot of fans. The guy had a tough time , personally, during that time. Too bad he couldn't enjoy it while it was happening. http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/8434045/keith-foulke-savor-boston-red-sox-2004-world-series-title
  12. Agreed. He really needs to keeps away from the mics. And Lucchino was good at a lots of things, but helping to build a roster is not one of them.
  13. Dude, nobody uses "I" more than you do on this site. Everyone is aware of how you feel about sabermetrics, along with every other topic brought up. Kimmi has said on more than one occasion that teams need to use a combination of scout and stats, to run a successful organization. There's no "possibly misunderstood", you're either not paying attention or have reading comprehension issues.
  14. Farrell's statement was based on what he saw in Dec, not when Pablo showed up at ST. I don't doubt that Pablo dropped 20. The problem is, it looks like he wasn't able to keep it off. As usual, the Sox FO don't know how to handle a controversial issue. John Henry's "17% BMI" comment was just dumb. Pablo better start off the season on a good note, or the Boston media and more fans, masquerading as comedians, will make things tough on him.
  15. Yup, worse than Ellsbury, and that's saying something!
  16. Manny was "fine" and "adequate" in the outfield?? Yup, that catch by Manny of Damon's throw to the cut off man was a pure Web Gem!! Just when you think things can't get more screwed up around here....
  17. No one is immune from wanting to push buttons occasionally.
  18. The top three were Scherzer, Lester and Shields. The Sox massively screwed up and lost Lester early. I supposed they could've outbid everyone for Scherzer, but I think if they were willing to shell out that kind of money, they were waiting for Price. They could've signed Shields, but does anyone think he would've helped enough to salvage last year's team?
  19. Good job trolling the old fools. LOL They can't help themselves...
  20. Are you suggesting that Kimmi is advocating for "major change" in baseball? The NL adopting the DH is a major change. Managers using sabermetrics to attempt to optimize a lineup is about as far from a major change as you can get.
  21. Jerry is great to fans. A buddy I go to the games with is in a wheelchair. We use to go to Jerry's hotdog stand, across from gate D (now, we go to the restaurant). The one time we saw Jerry out there, he made a point to come over and say hi to us. He insisted on giving my friend an autograph, but we didn't have anything for him to sign. "Give me your ticket, I'll sign that!". He really could not have been nicer.
  22. Seriously, you're too smart to be dealing with these morons on a daily basis.
  23. Jesus, there aren't enough "fan opinions" on the web as it is?
  24. No s*** Capt. Obvious. Can you post that 5000 more times, before the start of the season?
  25. At least you're consistent!
