  1. I gained so much respect for Xander last year, for many reasons. At the same time, right or wrong, I lost some respect for Mookie.
  2. I don't think the Sox plan on moving Dalbec off of 1B. They re-signed Mitch more as inurance and to give Dalbec some more time if needed. Mitch might get more playing time at the beginning of the season, but eventually, Dalbec will be playing mostly everyday.
  3. Seems like an insignificant amount to be haggling over, for both parties. Split the difference and call it a day. Or maybe they are working on a longer deal of some sort.
  4. Well done for both the Sox and Beni. Mookie should be taking a page out of Xander's and Beni's books.
  5. Which is still way better than what the Yankees have accomplished!
  6. Another face that we haven't seen in a while. Good to see you.
  7. Good to see you Kman.
  8. Without getting absurd? You are already well past absurdity.
  9. FTR, I think actors and musicians are paid way too much also. I have never not watched a movie or a baseball game because the stars or players make too much. But I'm not going to advocate for any player to get a $420 million contract.
  10. Oh, I do know that behind every good man is a good woman. Without a doubt.
  11. Kman? Is that you? Hi stranger! A young Will Middlebrooks, while playing for the Sox during the excitement of a pennant race, said that he lost his fire. I don't understand how that can happen to a guy who recently got called up, playing in one of the most passionate baseball cities on a team fighting for a playoff spot.
  12. Owners make too much.....waaaaaaaahhhhhh
  13. Two S5Dewey posts in a row that I agree with. Should I be concerned? Actually, we know that we are very much on the same page with almost everything non stat related.
  14. If Mookie wanted to stay in Boston that badly, he should have been a little more reasonable in his demands.
  15. I agree, it's absurd. OTOH, I have mentioned time and again the Henry has a tendency to panic. There is no way that he should consider backing out of this trade due to backlash, but it wouldn't be the first time that he's acted rashly.
  16. If the Sox are going to back out of a trade that I expect they put a lot of time, effort, and thought into, then shame on them. They will look foolish.
  17. I prefer to keep the guys that we have. I get that you'd like to get rid of Eovaldi's and JBJ's contracts, but I'm not high on trading JBJ, and the optimist in me says Eovaldi will bounce back. Plus, Chavis is young and cost controlled.
  18. We are dumb in the unlikely event that we are backing out due to the backlash, not the medicals on the kid.
  19. I think you're right, but at the same time, I think Henry's goal is to remain competitive this season. We need major league ready starting pitching.
  20. I have a hard time believing this is true.
  21. I agree that both teams are getting what they want in this deal. I think it's a win-win. I also agree that the teams will work it out. IMO, there's no way that this trade does not go through.
  22. Thank you. As I have posted before, I'm not saying that the Astros and the Sox should not be punished. The Astros were found guilty and rightly punished. The Sox, if found guilty, should be punished accordingly. What I have an issue with is some players of other teams talking about how they were cheated out of a championship, or about how the championships should be taken away from the Astros and the Sox. Give me a break you hypocrites.
