  1. I'm note sure what more can be expected in one offseason when you acquire the top starter and the best closer.
  2. Still trying to figure out why the thread is being critized. The fact that the rest of the lineup has picked up the slack does not mean moving an unproductive hitter out of the 5 spot should not be considered. What exactly has Hanley Ramirez done here to acquire "as long as he wants to" status again?
  3. JBJ is about as close to untradeable as you can get. So last night we got to see Kelly and Buch in the same game. Good Lord.
  4. I was under the impression that a Mercedes is a very good car. Still looking for evidence that Clay Bulhoz has been a very good pitcher.
  5. I will happily admit I was wrong if this continues. Good grief is he raking right now.
  6. His Red Sox career has me wondering how any Sox fan could see him as anything but a disappointment and a bad signing. We chased returns, paying him for what he did for someone else.
  7. Has any pro athlete ever had surgery and not seen Dr. Andrews? I'd pay $50 just to see his W 2.
  8. I have been worried about JBJ, I'm still worried as he is very streaky at the plate. But I knew a big deal for an aging injury prone player was a bad move by the Yanks. This was like saying goodbye to Pedro, painful at first but clearly the right move. As for the avatar I'm pro boob. Definitely pro boob.
  9. Sorry about the typos folks, for some reason this site won't let me edit from my tablet.
  10. Welcome to all the new posters. Now fetch me a beer Noob.
  11. LOL that anyone is still holding out hope for this guy based on a no-hitter that was thrown when George Bush was in office.
  12. Wow is the talk that Ferrell is that close to being canned surfacing this early? I can't see the games so don't have first hand knowledge. I did see him order an intentional walk with a man on third and 2 outs late in the game. Guy promptly stole second and was immediately in scoring position. We got out of the inning but that was a head scratcher.
  13. That artice should remove any ounce of sympathy for this clown.
  14. This is exactly how I feel as well. Poor Panda my ass, he brought all of this on himself. To show up like he did following his disasterous first year completely unapologetic did in fact show a total disrespect to the team, the fans and the game.
  15. Yeah I really like our future with all the young talent all over the field. If that means waiting a year I'm OK with that, I'd hate to see them trade away good young talent just to fill an immediate need.
  16. I am so done with The Clay Buchholz Experience. Team continues to hold out hope based on 2 good seasons in the last 8. He's never had a 200 inning season and only topped 170 innings 3 times. And he is our #2?
  17. It's a pretty low bar when 4 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings where he got away with a lot of bad pitches and was unable to keep the ball down is considered an outing fans are happy with. At this point I don't know how anyone could not be concerned with the starting pitching.
  18. Well so far it has played out as a lot of us had feared. Behind Price and possibly Rodríguez nothing but question marks. Frankly I don't trust any of them.
  19. Boy ain't that the truth. I have zero faith in Buch, that vanished years ago. I still believe ERod will fill the #2 spot very well when he gets back.
  20. Dogs? Let's start a dog thread. Cat lovers can bite me.* * One of our cats is on my lap as I typed this.
  21. He may be fat but he is money come World Series time. So all we do is sit him all year, win the pennant, then unleash the Panda. That's what I would do. 1. Panda sits 2. Sox go to World Series 3. Panda is MVP 4. Profit
  22. I was a skeptic too, then I remembered he was a shortstop. As long as he tries this may work after all. Now Panda? It appears that he just doesn't give a damn what people think of him.
  23. So what's the deal here, I can't edit a post before I have a certain number of posts? That's bad news, I can't type on this tablet worth a damn so you guys will see more typos.
  24. All were great, as I've always believed without a top closer it's prety hard to win a ring, but I'll go with Foulke for the reasons given earlier. He was put in more demanding spots. But obviously relief poitching is not always the closer. It seemed like they always had a guy in all 3 of their championship seasons who would relieve the starter with 2 on in the 6th and slam the door, then others would follow with the same results taking them to the closer.
  25. Exactly. People forgive fat, drunk and stupid if you hit .310.
