  1. Don't the Cubs have to get there first?
  2. As I recall, Pedro made an ok pitch which that dumb-ass Posada barely got the handle of the bat on. Looper to center, which barely dropped in. If Pedro had made a worse pitch, Posada would have gotten more of the bat on it. It would have been a routine, lazy fly ball to center and Grady would have been hailed a genius. (Am I mis-remembering this?)
  3. Likely last time we will ever see him hit.
  4. I don't know. Getting rid of people because you're pissed (e.g., Francona, Beckett, Gonzales, maybe Lester)--that doesn't always work out. Who would you put in his place? and at what cost?
  5. Alas, God helps those who help themselves.
  6. He, like the rest of the team, will have plenty of time to think about their performance in the last 10 games of the season.
  7. Oh I see. The K count was down.
  8. Why pinch hit for the one guy who has hit in this pathetic series?
  9. Time to renege on that Pomeranz deal yet?
  10. He's been cold, alas, since July.
  11. Given the at bats I've seen so far, I'm grateful for MNF.
  12. Yet another horrible at bat by JBJ.
  13. You mean game 5 in this series? Or in the WS when they're up 3-1?
  14. MONDAY?? You talkin' about Monday? Are you kidding me? MONDAY????
  15. 4-39 to close out the season, i.e., Steven Drew numbers. But it doesn't look as if he'll be riding the bench for long if it's only for the rest of the season.
  16. True. But does that make up for his dismal performance at the plate? 3 Ks and a pop-up?
  17. Lucky Napoli was taking that first pitch--should have been four in a row.
  18. Well timed! Let's rat out the whole line-up!
  19. Home field advantage on the line? No hit.
  20. Why is Abad ever put in a game?
  21. As Bob Costas noted last year, that makes replay a farce: it was never intended to micro-analyze the way players finish their slides. That play has been "safe" for over a 100 years of baseball.
  22. The problem is that if one is a sexist or a racist pig (and this applies historically to a large percentage of execs in professional sports), then there ALWAYS seem to be better and more qualified (white) men available.
  23. Why PH for a .270 hitter with a .210 hitter? I don't get it. (As for Leon, the RS got only 6 hits; he got one of them: he isn't/wasn't the problem).
  24. Still no error on the LFer after three plays like that??
  25. Wow. That's is sports-fan logic at its best!
