    They way Miley and Masterson have performed is not surprising at all.

    I have to disagree. Masterson's velocity was terrible this year and he was horrendous last year. Also, Miley's era plus is actually better this year than last year. So, I think it's very fair to say Miley and Masterson pitched to their abilities.

    The rotation I think you could legitimately say underperformed based off of their prior year performances and overall career track records was the 2012 rotation. Lester, Beckett, and Buchholz all pitched poorly that year and they were three pitchers who had proven before they could pitch in the al east.

    3/5 of the original starting rotation (buch, Miley, and Masterson) all pitched to their abilities this year. Porcello failed to be mediocre like he has been normally. Kelly was an unproven starter who was meh last year for the sox. Kelly should have no consideration for the rotation next year when the starting five are announced.

    4th time this year the sox have given up 9 or more runs in one inning.

    Absolutely. Only time you could afford to put two young guys is if you have three other consistently solid starters. Currently, the sox have buch (who would be due for a bad year according to his career pattern) and porcello, who has pitched like one of the worst starters in the al and has been a mediocre pitcher for essentially his whole career.

    Absolutely. He can't even be an average hitter.

    Ben took a flyer on masterson, ross, and ogando. All three of them had terrible years in 2014 but had had success in the past. Masterson had no velocity and was horrendous. Ross started off terrible, has gotten better, but he's still a below average reliever era wise. Ogando has been good at times and bad at others and his era reflects that, as he also has an era above league average for a reliever. Ben ended up getting 1 absolute useless piece of s*** and 2 not so stellar relievers.

    If the sox could mash like they use to, it wouldn't be a huge deal to have him in the outfield.

    Wow. That absolute rocket mookie slammed at prado was an error but the little ground ball jackie hit that hit off the first basemans mitt was ruled a hit?

    Moncada has been elite offensively in the 36 games since the single- a all star game. .348 average, 5 hrs, .988 ops, 12 doubles, and a whopping 27 stolen bases. At least he is making some good progress.

    The absolute worst rotation that should be out there next year is: a very good free agent or traded pitcher, buchhlolz, porcello, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Henry Owens. Miley can be used intially out of the pen as a long man and can fill a spot later on if anyone in the rotation gets injured or sucks.

    Also, adding Shields, Davis, and Zimmerman is taking on a ton of money, even with negating sandovals contract. I doubt they take on that much.

    Not a bad idea, except no way do you put eduardo in the pen. You trade Andrew Miller to get a starter. You either trade erod, or put him in the rotation. In the rotation you put, I would switch eduardo with Wade Miley . Keep Miley in the pen as a long reliever and back up starter just in case of any injuries or another s*** year from porcello.
