  1. Errors as a metric aren’t irrelevant. I think it’s fair game to criticize the Sox for the number of errors they commit because they lead the league in errors. It’s just that they aren’t the most important metric when deciding which teams are good or not so good defensively. Errors give the other team extra outs.
  2. I don’t think number of errors is regarded as the most important defensive metric. Just a piece of the pie.
  3. Agreed re: ERA. Its just another parameter in the equation, though its not the most important one for a RP.
  4. I am surprised to see that Slaten was actually worse than average. Kelly and Campbell weren’t impressive but Hendricks was hurt. And contrary to popular opinion I haven’t yet given up on Hicks. If he somehow gets into a groove and can find the K zone he will be effective. We will see how Slaten does when/if he returns.
  5. Are those stats with or without Alcala (who is no longer with the Sox). And once Slaten returns the ERA should get reduced further.
  6. And visiting teams don’t do walkoffs. Of that I’m certain
  7. Is that like the trivia question “ if a plane crashes exactly on the border of the US and Canada where do they bury the survivors”?
  8. For me it’s counterintuitive. But the numbers don’t lie.
  9. Here’s my trivia question: what percentage of extra inning games are won by the home team 2025?
  10. I don’t blame Gio for this. He had a bad outing. But Cora was an idiot for not removing him before the tying run scored. He was trying to get him through five. But it cost the team a win
  11. Good time to drill Machado. On the other hand any time is a good time to drill him
  12. And lots of missed opportunities. The baseball gods hate that.
  13. Got you beat Vegas. I live within literally 60 miles of 975 wineries. No need to stay sober given the circumstances 😉
  14. I’d be most concerned about Seattle if Naylors injury isn’t too serious. Slaten is getting close to returning I hear and even Hendricks said he thinks he can make it back.
  15. Murphy had a bad outing, but overall he’s been effective. What is encouraging about this game is that Boohler was throwing at 95. I don’t remember him being there this year.
  16. Boohlers velocity is up. Fastball at 95 Enjoy the game Dinner time here out west
