I am. This team absolutely sucks. We all know it. As I predicted over the winter it has no chance whatsoever to play October baseball. Best to start now in a quest to improve our draft position.

Generally speaking the higher the draft pick the more talented is the player. Doesn't ALWAYS work out that way, but in general its true. Its why the teams with worse records pick higher than the best teams.

Because tanking involves losing as many games as possible, meaning our SPers should be held out and a less useful pitcher be used. It has nothing to do with his injury, only with tanking.

5-2?? How did that happen? Still not gonna watch since they allowed two runs without a hit. If I wanted to watch Little League baseball I can go down to the local park.

Thanks Old Red. I think I have a pretty good handle on why this franchise SUCKS and has sucked for years. Talented players don’t want to come here because the owner isn’t committed to winning like the owners and management of the other three major MA sports teams. Henry gives lip service to wanting to compete but as far as I’m concerned he’s whistling Dixie. I can see right through him. The few players on the roster who actually do have talent probably aren’t giving it their best effort-and why should they? Ownership and management aren’t doing their part to win.

I care about how the FLOPS do relative to the other teams. Thats different than caring how the other teams are doing. For example, I care that the flops finish above the Yankmees, but I don’t care how the yankmees finish other than that they finish below the FLOPS.

I don’t care what the Cubs do or what any other team does. We suck. That’s what I care about. Breslow failed to secure top flight offensive talent, signing bums like IKF and Durbin and what’s-his-name. I am quite sure that’s demoralizing to the players who want to play baseball in October and realize that isn’t going to happen with the bums BresLOW added. I am quite sure that’s part of why some players are underperforming. It’s a matter of “why should I bust my ass if management isn’t supporting the team…..

Obviously that’s not true. They are in last place and very near the bottom in runs scored and OPS. BresLOW failed miserably and the fans will have to put up with watching the FLOPS again instead of the SOX.

I think I made my point. It’s valid. I remember a couple of years ago when the flops were at the trade deadline and I read an interview with one of the players who said “everyone knows what this team needs”. They didn’t get the talent they needed then either. I am quite sure that has an adverse effect on the psychology of the players. It says that management doesn’t believe in them. The result is that the players just go through the motions-which is what they are doing now.

Sure. They gave up because no significant talent was signed over the winter. You are underestimating their intelligence. Everyone knows what the team needed and didn’t get. You really think the players are that stupid?

The players knew what they needed to become a contender. No doubt they were pretty deflated when they saw that the cheapskate owner wasn’t willing to shell out the money to provide the team with what everyone knew it needed. I am quite sure that is a large part of the reason we stink.

It’s not a matter of “instead of”. It’s a matter of “in addition to”. Breslow failed and should be fired.
