  1. Time for a prolonged stint on the DL for BUCKYSUCKY. Like for the rest of the season.
  2. Why the hell are they cheering that bum?
  3. Buchholtz still sucks If you ever want a lemon pitched we know who to send out there. Just pathetic.
  4. Get back to the dugout Bucky
  5. Aviles is no Julio Lugo.
  6. Yeah, but Iggy "prevents more runs" and probably would "call a good game" when he tells Pedroia who should cover 2nd base. Isn't that worth something? Seriously, I give Iggy until July. No production=get rid of him for a pitcher.
  7. Anyone rethinking the usefulness of Jose Iglesias? He is hitting under .200 with an OPS of under .500 right now. I think he should be used to get us a pitcher, maybe as part of a package. Aviles is our SS.
  8. We missed you Boston22407. If you had started yesterday's game thread we would be working on a 8 game win streak. 11-1. So much for the A's pitching staff, at least for tonite. This lead is Buchholtz-proof
  9. Small sample size. Almost meaningless at this point in the season.
  10. Another way to look at this is that Buchholz only appeared in 14 games last year and threw 82 innings. While he was here he was good, but he wasn't here much. Last year Beckett and Lester were our only two consistent effective SP. We absolutely need them to pitch well. Do we also NEED CB to pitch well this year in view of the fact that we had the dual punching bags of Lackey and Wakefield (you can add Miller and Weiland to that list too) and this year we have Bard and Doubront? Not sure about that as long as Beckett and Lester pitch well. If DiceK can come back and contribute than CB could be an afterthought on the DL if he doesn't perform and we still come out ahead. The key is our two good SP and Bard and Doubront continuing to pitch well and stay healthy.
  11. Oh well. This one is ovah. I'll take a 6-1 road trip. Gotta beat the A's pitching-best in the AL.
  12. Oki had a gimmick. His delivery was so screwy that opposing batters could not help but laugh and therefore made a lot of outs against him. Tazawa seems to have a good arsenal of pitches, good velocity, and generally pretty good command. I think he will be around for a while.
  13. On paper we win this game handily. But if our Mojo Maestro Boston 22407 doesn't show up to start the game thread all bets are off. Don't think I will be on the game thread much today. Real life is going to interfere today, except possibly for short periods of time. But have at it. I will check back in later.
  14. Not sure. I think we could continue this game thread and post a reference to it so everyone could find it. There is no need to mess with the karma that dude brought the team.
  15. Where is Boston22407? We need him/her to start the game thread for today. No one else should be doing it, given the success so far he is having.
  16. Agree with most of that except for the defense. While fielding percentage only tells part of the story, right now the Sox are third in that category in the AL: http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/fielding/league/al/sort/fieldingPct/order/true I would have to grade them higher than just 5.5/10
  17. One game behind the Yankees and two behind the Rays in the lost column after tonite. Rays losing big in Texas. Sure glad none of the ALE teams is tearing it up like the Rangers.
  18. Brennan, while this is a pretty good site, the mods rightfully do not tolerate the game threads turning into trash through the use of irrelevant personal stuff. There is an ignore feature here. I used it on two people for a while when things got off target. It worked pretty well. Just some advice from a friend: use that feature rather than becoming a party to stuff that detracts from the treads. That is all I will have to say about this. Back to baseball. Enjoy a great and encouraging win.
  19. Ciao Brennan....good to be back posting with ya.
  20. Off to walk the dog. Good win. One more win tomorrow coming.
  21. Very cool. Won this game with great pitching. Good sign.
  22. ONE MORE STRIKE....DO IT!
