  1. Why isn't Betts running here??
  2. Since the start of last season Leon leads all catchers in catcher ERA. Defensively, he is not bad. But with a bat in his hands, he is nearly useless.
  3. We will need two more runs at least to win this game.
  4. Nice to see that other teams can be brain dead on the basepaths too
  5. Bad guy to have up here
  6. Here comes Mr Offense!
  7. Pedroia had microfracture surgery on his knee. After that procedure nearly NO ONE is fine, at least not for long. No need to rush him back....gotta be aware of the number of games he can play now for the rest of his career.
  8. Its possible that his presence caused us to lose games would would have won had a better hitter been in the lineup-because the factors such as the quality of the opposing pitcher or team may have been less competitive when he was in the lineup than when he wasn't. Many other factors could also play a role. Who on the Sox was resting when he played, for example. Unless you correct for the variables its impossible to know the impact of playing him. I do know this: he is a disaster with a bat in his hands and its likely his presence has cost us runs, if not games.
  9. Its irrelevant because that record is impacted by many other factors besides him being in the lineup. If we played the same team with the same SPs with the same lineups for each team you have then controlled for many more variables. Of course, that never happens, which makes using our record with him in the lineup NEARLY irrelevant.
  10. That is incorrect. Past performance is a far better indicator of what a player will do in the future than some made up projection. How are his projections working out for you now? Its no longer a small sample size-this started at the end of August last year. It encompasses about 250 PAs between last Sept and this year, and his OPS is remarkably similar last year (.517) as this year. Its not a small sample size any more. Its not huge, but its significant. Furthermore, if you are watching him at the plate its very clear that he is lost up there. He cannot even hit fastballs thrown right down broadway. He has lost the ability to hit....it happens. He needs to be demoted until he can find an acceptable level of performance, if that ever happens.
  11. Bradley isn’t quite buying all the criticism. He feels like his swing is “very similar if not the same as in the past,” and thus “there’s nothing saying that it can’t work.” This says it can't work: .165/.519/41
  12. He isn't a particularly coachable player.....he should be able to work out his swing on his own....in Pawtucket or Lowell.
  13. Great job by ERod today...but he has to find a way to be more efficient if he is going to take it to the next level
  14. What are the odds that Hembree walks the first guy he sees?
  15. 97 pitches...time to get someone up in the pen
  16. No way thats a hit. Devers is very weak defensively...he better start producing with the bat soon or he will find himself on the bench next to Bradley.
  17. Moreland is a career .764 OPS guy. He is not a .900 OPS guy, and his fall is expected. Its one of the reasons we cannot afford to have Bradley in the lineup any more.
  18. Bench him my butt....send him to Pawtucket-or Lowell
  19. We have a player who is at .161/.502/36 There is no more awful a player on this team right now.
  20. He should be sent out to pasture at Pawtucket Farms
  21. The Red Sox should STICK the Mariners with Bradley
  22. I am going with JBJ making contact ONCE
  23. No GM is going to make a "substantial offer" for an unproven player. Swihart hasn't been given a reasonable chance to prove himself behind the plate, so he remains an unknown commodity. He deserves a chance to do that. The Red Sox should have done that long ago.
  24. I wouldn't. Realmutto has a career OPS of .762. Catchers tend to wear down in time. I do not trade starting pitching+a decent RP for his production. On the other hand, I would trade Bradley for a bag of golf balls, as long as they are Titleist balls.
