  1. I think JDs contract worked out fine. He was excellent for many years. You have to expect falloff at the end of the long term contract of an older player.
  2. Bogaerts called out on a non strike These umps are horrible We need robo umps
  3. All those huge contracts are a big risk. Some work out. Most don’t.
  4. Illinois asked me what I would do. I outlined my plan. There’s no reason it shouldn’t work. Regardless, the status quo certainly isn’t working
  5. Glad you asked. I would start by holding team meetings before each game and reminding the players that it’s a 162 game season and that they are paid to played focused sound baseball until the end of the last game of the season and not embarrass themselves in front of the fans. Next I would give a player one warning if they made a dumb mental error. If the player makes another dumb mental error he should be benched-pulled from the game if necessary to make an example of him. You won’t have to do it to everyone because they will get the message that you mean business. That use to happen in the game before the players became prima donnas. Second offense: a week on the bench. Third offense: some time on the IL. Belichick employs similar tactics with his teams and they have been remarkably successful. You play the game the right way or you won’t be playing. Hopefully that clears it up.
  6. I don’t think I would trade Bello yet. If he can develop a good third pitch he might become a decent SP.
  7. Ok Outta here Screw this team
  8. It’s the job of the manager to get his team mentally ready for the game. It’s clear that this team hasn’t been focused for months. Yes, some of it is on the players too, but there has been too much brain dead baseball played for months.
  9. I was referring to pitchers other than rookies. The rookies haven’t really had a reasonable chance to be evaluated.
  10. Right I forgot Pivetta He is a serviceable #4-5 SP
  11. Who else do you think is worth keeping? The team needs to be dismantled. It’s going to take years for us to be relevant again.
  12. Here’s who I would keep in the pen next year: Schreiber Whitlock Houck That’s it. For SP: Wacha Sale (with fingers crossed)
  13. Game over The team continues to suck
  14. He did. But it’s still a recipe for disaster.
  15. If we’re lucky Martinez will only make one out
  16. Bases loaded nobody out is a recipe for disaster. Good thing the Rangers are a horrible team.
  17. Wow Hill escapes with only one run allowed
  18. And they are about to beat us This one is almost over already Hill sucks
  19. Devers strikes out on a ball that bounced on the plate He needs to sit
  20. The Sox better pay Devers and prevent him from leaving.
  21. Not even going to watch the postmortem. This one is over
  22. It’s Barnes in. The odds of him blowing this game are 100%
  23. It does matter. The more games they lose the better draft position we get.
