  1. And Rafaela has had a great …..month. JBJ was even worse with a bat despite his “moments”
  2. How’d you like him when he proved he couldn’t hit the baseball? Very similar to Rafaela. He had a brief moment in the sun just like Cedanne. Then he sucked offensively though he was obviously great in CF.
  3. Even Moon gave up on him. He’s had a great month. But his lack of K zone control will be his downfall. He’s a newer version of JBJ.
  4. His career OPS+ is 94-below average. And he hasn’t a clue where the strike zone is. He’s going to revert to baseline eventually. Let’s see where he is in September. Meanwhile enjoy this flash in the pan.
  5. He’s a very good defensive player He’s a below average hitter for his career. That said it would please me to no end to be wrong about him for the good of the team. But I don’t think that will happen.
  6. Too many Flops hitters are taking K zone lessons from Rafaela
  7. Not just that but unless Mayer gets ABs against ML LHPs he’s never going to get good at it.
  8. Rafaela swings at a ball that almost hit him then takes strike 3 on a ball right down the middle.
  9. He didn’t want to be that close to the Red Sox dugout. Thats what Clark said anyway. Apparently
  10. Like most MLB hitters when they are served a meatball right down the middle even Rafaela can hit it. But unlike most hitters he has absolutely no idea about the K zone. Watching him swing at balls a foot outside is getting old. Its going to cause him to drift down to his level as a hitter, which has been BELOW AVERAGE for his career. By the end of the year he'll get there.
  11. I recognize a bum with a bat in his hands far better than you do, obviously. Enjoy this little flash in the pan by your hero. Once pitchers realize they never need to throw him a strike he’ll be back to his old incompetent self with an OPS+ closer to his career number which is 92.-below average.
  12. He still has zero plate discipline. That’s why he’ll find his natural level: striking out a lot on balls a foot off the plate.
  13. Why anyone throws Rafaela a strike is beyond me. He’s pretty good at hitting balls thrown down the middle, like nearly all MLB hitters.
  14. Rafaela k’s on a ball a foot outside. He still isn’t ready for prime time. His flash in the pan will end soon because he has no plate discipline.
  15. Rafaela k’s on a ball a foot outside. He still isn’t ready for prime time. His flash in the pan will end soon because he has no plate discipline.
