  1. Wow. I hope Craig and Kelly pan out then. But I'd have to say I like Kelly when he is on, I know he's been shelled as of late. But maybe he can turn it around and I'd rather have Kelly in his prime rather than Lackey now in his later years and Lackey's velocity has been regressing which is not good in the AL. Thank you Pal for the help clearly that up for me.
  2. Does Lackey league minimum salary for next year go along with him when he is traded? I was thinking I had read that it only applied to the Red Sox if he had an elbow injury during his contract that he would be paid league minimum for a year. But I could totally be wrong. And probably am but I was thinking their was a clause that specified it only applied to the Red Sox. Please correct me tho.
  3. With that they can afford Lester and Scherzer and fill out the bullpen and resign Koji and have a lil left for arbitration cases. I think Lester has to be a definite resign.
  4. How much $ will the Sox have next year to play with to still stay under the luxury tax?
  5. Yeah the two will probably be Bradley and Betts that won't be here.
  6. What if Boston now flips Cespedes and prospects to Miami for Stanton. With the pitching prospects they have it just may be able to get this deal finally done.
  7. The A's just now become the favorites in the AL now with the Tigers a close 2nd. It would be crazy if Lester pitched in back to back World Series. I think now the main goal is to resign him in the off season. We need an ace and he is definitely that. I'd say before the deadline Lackey and Andrew Miller will be gone too.
  8. Here's my hope for the rest of the year and this off season moves. 1st off I'd like to see Stanton here but I don't ever see that. If they trade him the Marlins fanbase is done. Ok this year before thursday's deadline. Trade Andrew Miller to an NL club for anything of mid to high level propect to whatever team is willing to deal. Try to resign in offseason. Trade Jon Lester to the Dodgers for Matt Kemp. Let the Dodgers eat a chuck of Kemp's salary. Resign Lester in the offseason no matter what. Trade Swihart, Doubrant, Carp, and another PTBNL to Philly for Cliff Lee with Philly eating a small bit of Lee's salary. Offseason Moves Make a run at Hanley but the Dodgers with trump any offer a team makes for him. But still it should be looked into. Try to trade for Tulo. Use Bogey as the centerpiece to work out the deal but Colorado prolly will turn down all offers. He is like their Stanton without him no one in the seats. Sign Max Scherzer. It will be a contract in the Zach Greinke or CJ Wilson range he's too old for Kershaw money. But he would be the Ace of the staff. Get WMB healthy we need power in the lineup. Sign Lackey to a 2 year extension. 2yr-26million would seem to be a norm or the Sox. 2015 Lineup Vs lefties Holt CF L Peddy 2B R Ortiz DH L Kemp LF R Napoli 1B R Vic RF R WMB 3B R Vazquez C R Bogey SS R Vs righties Sub Nava for Vic in RF Sign a left handed hitting backup C Sign a left handed hitting SS not Stephen Drew 2015 Rotation Scherzer, Lester, Lee, Lackey, & Buch 2015 Bullpen Resign Koji on a 2 year deal I see the Sox' FO turning Ben loose and saying build us a power hitting lineup with great defense and make 1 of the strongest rotations in the majors. Then if anyone goes down they have all the young talented arms on the farm to plug in. Let the bullpen anchored by Koji with maybe Workman being the long relief and adding whatever strong arms they can to fill out the bullpen. I see all the moves as a win-win the farm doesn't have to be traded away for old players so not to sacrifice the future.
  9. I wish they would keep him as well. But let me throw the conspiracy theory out there. What if Jon Lester has mentioned to Ben in discussion talks about the possibility of being traded and bringing assets back to the Red Sox then in the off season resigning back with the Red Sox. Jon has said time and time again he wants to be here and finish his career here. He knows that he is a big ticket item and that teams will give a big haul for him if they trade for him. So that being said, what if Lester is looking out for the Sox in the future with the trade and resigning plan because he knows that the team needs outfield/power bats. I'm just spit balling but has anyone thought that maybe this could be a made up deal with the front office and Jon?
  10. f*** drew! Horrible resign by the FO I still have hope that the core guys start helping these young boys and they start winning some games down the line. Im not real optimistic about turning it around and making the playoffs but I hope Ben makes some moves by the deadline to build on next year.
  11. Great win... I only got to see the highlights tho had to work, I hope this continues we need a good start by Peavy tonite, pitching wins championships
  12. How long will WMB be out for with the finger?
  13. It's probably time for Buch to go a phantom DL stint and work things out in the minors for a couple of outings. I like Clay and I hope he figures this out. It looks to me like he is smaller this year than he was last year. I don't know if that's actual fact or not but to me he just looked heavier last year than this.
  14. Good point User. I hadn't seen where Lee was on the DL. As far as another pitcher goes, would you make a trade or promote from within? If you think trade then who would you go after?
  15. JBJ needs to anything to not suck as bad as he does. Hes awesome at defense but his bat is pathetic. I think some additions and subtractions need to be started in negotiations. The whole outfield this year has been s***. I think a trade for a power hitting outfielder is the trick along with another starting pitcher. And we just need to get healthy probably the most important of all is to get healthy. Vic, WMB, and Nap need to be back in the lineup and soon. I think it's the time of the year to start thinking trades before this thing gets outta hand. I would go out and get two guys if a deal could be made. Cliff Lee and Matt Kemp would be the ones Id go after. I know that's a lot of payroll but I think this first part of the year has shown that basement shopping and giving guys a chance just don't work every time. I hope they do something soon.
  16. ok thank ya jacko I'm trying to order it right now
  17. No but I'm gonna switch my service and add extra innings. The first few games all the games werent blacked out on NESN but this last week the programming is viewed and then when game time starts it blacks out. Anyone know how much extra innings is?
  18. Has anyone else been having the problem with NESN blacking out all these games? I changed my satellite service to add NESN and it has programming all the way up to game time and then it blacks out. Total ********!
  19. What is up with JBJ starting over Grady Sizemore the past two nights? I like him in center better than JBJ. Is Grady's struggles at the plate putting him on the bench or is he hurt? I still say we need a trade for an outfield bat.
  20. Only a guess but I'd say Clay had a light off season and didn't start training until late and now he is going through a dead arm phase. I'd say in the next two starts he finds his mark and starts looking like the Clay of old. I would like to see him stay healthy for a full season tho. I'd rather have all the struggles, bad starts, and injuries happen now rather then later in the year. So hopefully we have all that behind us and we start winning.
  21. We have got to get a bat for the outfield... JBJ Gomes Carp and Sizemore are all worthless... getting Vic back helps but still he'll need some time to adjust to MLB pitching... I think a trade needs to happen in the next few days before things get outta hand... 29th in the league in outfield production is sad But Doubrant and Ross getting crossed up as bad as they have tonite is even more sad. This has the makings of a 8 - 9 game comeback game for the Sox. I can only hope they come out and blast CC in the bottom of this inning.
  22. Anyone have any news on Middlebrooks? We need some more power added into the bottom half of the line up.
  23. This Umpire is f***ing blind! Please Grady get a hit. And let it fly over Ichiro's head.
