  2. Nava is an emergency LF too. He is an absolutely terrible defender. He needs to hit as good as he did last year just to be an OK overall player.
  3. I agree. He was an amazing threat on the bases. I can't even recall a time when he made a mistake on the basepath. Victorino's return will help, but I don't see any other opportunities to replace the baserunning value lost from Ellsbury. Maybe when Nava gets taken out to pasture, Sizemore add a little more of that dimension
  4. That incident reveals how ridiculous the controversy is in the first place. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/former-nationals-joel-peralta-ejected-from-rays-nationals-game-before-throwing-a-pitch-for-foreign-substance-on-glove/2012/06/19/gJQArpM8oV_blog.html
  5. I see. It's a conspiracy. We need to keep our feelings a secret, because we can't let anyone know how we plan to complain to our manager, which will lead to a big story when pine tar use is seen again, and then we will have to keep our feelings to ourselves again!
  6. I am not an expert on the physics of the interaction of baseballs and the amount of pine tar used on them. The players involved in this story do not care about it, which suggests the effect is not noticeable.
  7. The players don't seem to care about pine tar. If they don't think it matters, that's good enough for me. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2014/04/david_ortiz_dustin_pedroia_say_they_dont_care_if_yankees_michael_pineda_used_pine_tar.html Where was the outrage at Buchholz and Lester from the Blue Jays, and especially the Cardinals?
  8. I agree, but he made bigoted comments and used urban legends as his own personal anecdotes which were unrelated to baseball.
  9. He was also the retired CEO of a Fortune 500 corporation.
  10. OK. The Red Sox are still the 3rd richest franchise in MLB.
  11. I don't believe him, but if you guys do, I'll leave it alone.
  12. What the f*** are you talking about? How is living off a resident's salary comparable to what working class people go through? Oh, wait. You weren't ever a resident.
  13. What are they thanking him for?
  14. It shouldn't. If anything you'll just be more vulnerable to viruses.
  15. Caught at the wall. http://www.strikeout.co/baseball/220836/1/new-york-yankees-vs-boston-red-sox-live-stream-online.html Here's the game if you don't have it on TV.
  16. Ronald Reagan was friendly with fellow chickenhawks, so he understood why George just could not bring himself to do what he expects others to do.
  17. What better way to show you are a fierce warrior? Playing patriotic music and supporting the troops almost pardons you for evading military service. (George Steinbrenner)
  18. lol MLB Networks shows the leaders in wOBA on their news scroll.
  19. The Red Sox are worth $1.5 billion. Stop crying about being poor.
  20. I looked up this line of logic on google. First result was a site of racist people making racist comments, but saying they weren't racist, because other people were calling them racist.
  21. That was not a strike.
  22. Translation - "I'm a bigot who laughs at words I don't understand. I also play Operation, which makes me a real doctor."
  23. He won't sign with us.
