  1. Has Mortensen pitched since Monday? He really saved the bullpen that night and may be asked to do something similar this weekend.
  2. I say this now. But it probably would have happened regardless of beckett's outing. Hopefully Doubront and morales will make it a non issue.
  3. The off day gave the bullpen extra rest. Still, tomorrow's double header only complicates the matter. I have a feeling a pitcher will be called up tomorrow from Pawtucket.
  4. Sad that salty got snubbed from the ASG. LET'S GO SOX!
  5. Agon is long overdue for a home run. Now would be good
  6. If the three stooges sitting next to the Red Sox dugout can't acknowledge the growing push to do something to shake up this team then they ought to just sell the team. It's clear that their interest has dropped from years past.
  7. Glad to be here whether its good or bad times. Always up for talking Sox and baseball with intelligent fans.
  8. Let's hope you're right! GO SOX!
  9. Overall, this season has been very strange up to this point. Almost nobody could have predicted the Orioles would be where they are in the standings at this point. Their play has really improved the level of competition in the division as a whole.
  10. Maybe you have a point that something substantial needs to happen to really catch this FO's attention. It seems many fans have lost trust in the organization's ability to assemble a cohesive, winning team after the past several seasons of talented yet unfulfilling squads. What makes this situation even more sickening is the organization has blamed everything under the sun (injuries, umpires, travel schedule, etc) but their own ineptitude for the team's failures.

  12. Unacceptable. I don't care how many issues this team has. This road trip was an absolute disgrace to watch. As a baseball fan, about the only thing worse to watch than a perpetually losing team is a talented team that manages to beat itself on a regular basis.
  13. What I can't seem to fathom is the Sox struggles on road trips further west than Kansas City. This has been an issue for several years - so it can't be blamed solely in the perceived lack of talent this year's team has. The other Eastern and Central teams have to make these trips too.
  14. I can't believe what I've been watching on this West Coast trip. The lack of offense is beyond ridiculous and better not be an issue this weekend.
  15. 1st game jitters out of the way. SCORE SOME RUNS and take the series! GO SOX!
  16. Melancon has certainly improved from his 2 week stint in April, though I'm not sure he could have gotten worse. His season numbers will probably never recover, but he's heading in the right direction.
  17. Either way, the DiceK era will be over by the end of this season. Even as a 5th starter, his ending line tonight cannot cut it - especially against this Oakland A's team.
  18. Still several innings to go. Anything can happen I suppose. This year's team has been awful in the opening games of series and, more times than not, has been able to recover from dropping the 1st game of the series.
  19. From the sample I've seen, Darvish tends to fatigue in his outings and that has led to some of the walks. Early on in his outings, he's more aggressive and establishes his fastball and strike 1 much more effectively than Dice K. He may become less effective as the league sees more of him. A perfect example is this Oakland A's team, which managed to score several runs on him the last few times they've faced him compared to being held to 1 run in their first outing against him.
  20. Very similar comparison coming from a fan who watches Darvish on a regular basis. The Rangers offense supports him heavily when he starts and he has been fortunate to get key outs with runners on base. I will say that Darvish is more polished and consistent in the strike zone than Dice K ever was.
  21. I think you meant Cook Wednesday as Thursday is a rest day from traveling back home. But I'd be very surprised too if Morales isn't starting on Friday.
  22. Sox vs. A's: DiceK vs Parker Lester vs TBA Morales vs Griffin I wonder if they will start Cook on Wednesday and have Morales start Friday against the Yankees
