  1. Trust me the Mariners would be that ballsy. If anything they'd ask for him before Lester
  2. Who would be moving for the sox then? Cause I agree, Theo knows he cant get much for a 35 year old who has a contract expiring soon. It's a safe trade since we don't need to give up Xander, Jackie, Barnes etc
  3. It has been indeed, but to answer your question I suppose my untouchables would be 1. Bogaerts 2. Bradley 3. Middlebrooks 4. Barnes. In some cases I wouldnt object to Barnes being involved. I think the first person theyd ask for is Middlebrooks though, however id think long and hard about moving him. Jackie and Xander are just straight up off limits though in my opinion.. As for Garza im not sure whod they be asking for exactly, harder to say then Felix
  4. I just can't get excited about him coming back. Hope he does come back and kill it, but I just can't say i'm anticipating his return
  5. This better not be the alternative to Felix or Garza
  6. He's had a solid season up to this point. Great start, mediocre middle of the season. Hopefully he can finish strong and possibly start AA next year
  7. This may get a chuckle out of some folks, but I was so high on Engel Beltre back 2-3 years ago. Anyone know how he's doing in the rangers system? I wouldn't be suprised if they give up on him to especially when Profar is a year away from the bigs
  8. I agree, they won't unload him this season. The front office doesn't see anyone who can take daily duties of CF better than Ellsbury right now. However, next year I think he's huge trade bait unless he comes back and goes for another 30/30. Either way they're in a good position that is the RedSox. He does bad? Ship him and bring in Bradley. He does good? Sign him and try to work Bradley in CF time to time or transition to RF/LF
  9. And he'll have a chance to come back. I don't think they'll move him this season. I know the threads are flooding with Ellsbury/Lester/Iglesias trades for all these pitchers, but I don't think he'll be one of the pieces. I think teams would prefer Middlebrooks way before Ellsbury
  10. No, I remember his 30 for 30 season...but that was once. Let's see him do it again then we're on to something
  11. Well i'm big on developing young players at the MLB level and not having 25 year olds waste their talent in AAA. That's why i'm so pro-bradley. I can see your argument for Ellsbury of course. Hell if I had it my way i'd have Bogaerts in AAA by now
  12. I was very on the fence at the time this all went down. I am by no means a big Bailey guy i'm not trying to say he's better than pap. Maybe we should just sign Tom Flash Gordon and call it a day!
  13. And with the money he will be asking for very soon, I don't see it being worth it
  14. Everything is easier in retrospect. Obviously the way the pen is now you would give him the money in a heartbeat. At the time though I can't say I blame them for not showing him the money
  15. You have to think about 2-3 years down the line.. If Ellsbury comes back strong and goes back to his old form will he sign on for multi years with the sox? Or if he doesn't come back in good form they should off load him and get something rather then see him walk for nothing. If he doesn't come back strong they'll move in the other direction. The front office is drooling over Bradley as they should
  16. I don't care where Ellsbury goes as long as it's not here. Maybe one more year, but after that just give the reigns to the kid (Bradley). He's a stud I don't think I need to sell anyone on that
  17. I would say aim for Garza or Greinke. Greinke may not be around long though apparently the brew crew are preparing a 5 year 100 mill dollar deal. I'd have a hard time saying no to that even if it is in Milwaukee. Hell Greinke is use to being on a garbage team that's been his whole career KC to MIL
  18. I don't think teams would say no to Ellsbury, but you have to be on the field to rebuild around a player. I'm so ready to unload him and his contract that i'm counting the days til Bradley takes CF in Fenway
  19. Yeah I meant to put Bogaerts before Jackie, but they are very valuable. I'd hate to see either of them go. Although Jackie is doing very very well in Portland right now. .316 through 25 games isn't too shabby. I wonder if he keeps this up through the rest of the season will they start him in Pawtucket in 2013
