  1. Hudson would make Dempster the odd man out though, not Peavy.
  2. Why? Proven track record with tons of MLB experience, durable, and he's not terrible either. Tanaka is a question mark no matter how you look at it.
  3. I might sound crazy, but I'd actually rather see Tim Hudson in a Sox uni than Tanaka in one.
  4. Considering Workman, Webster, Wilson, JBJ and a couple others got several looks, I'd agree with this.
  5. Offseason brings back the infighting. Yay. MLBTR has not really said anything about Stanton so far, but I'm positive the Sox like him, and I'm sure they have done their diligence on him as well. I'm sure Ben might have even made a phone call, and if he did, he was probably told to f*** himself. MLBTR also says the Sox "really want" Tim Hudson, according to a source "close to the team." They sure seem to love these old pitcher types. However Hudson is an improvement over Dempster, he's pretty durable, and had pretty decent success in the AL, even though that was years ago. I think they may end up packaging Dempster as a throw-in, probably for Hanigan. The Sox may like McCann but there is no way they'll sign him for 5/80, even shorter years with higher AAV will be a no go, with the current roster they only have 32MM to spend under the lux tax. Which is why I think they'll trade for Hanigan, if Salty were to sign somewhere else, which I think he will. I'm not sure if they sign Beltran, but if they did where would he go, LF?
  6. If a player accepts a QO, they can pull the offer and negotiate another contract right?
  7. Yeah the Sox definitely wouldn't get a lot for Buchholz. Maybe a middling starter or a decent BP arm, but not CarGo.
  8. I think it would take more than Buchholz and Brentz. Brentz is a very attractive option as far as an OF prospect, but Buch just isn't durable enough to provide THAT much value. I'd say the Rox would ask for someone like Lester + prospects. Maybe the sox could use Lackey as trade bait?
  9. Lester being shutdown in the second half, everyone stepping up and taking the slack buchholz left when he was injured. The resurgence of lackey, Farrell and Nieves, Pedroia, Ortiz, Victorino, Drew's defense, iglesias batting 500 before getting traded, Daniel Nava, Jonny Gomes clutch homers, motherf***ing koji uehara, and Ben f***ing Cherington... Also pretty much everyone else besides Hanrahan and Brock Holt
  10. From independent league ballplayer to world series champion.. That's one hell of a story.
  11. There's another guy who just turned 30 and has been a major part of our WS titles in 2007 and 2013. His name is Dustin Pedroia
  12. Yes. Also regarding our conversation about Dempster last night, he apparently celebrated by throwing batting practice to anyone left in the stadium who wanted to participate, up until 3AM.. how awesome is that??
  13. I wish that had those in fitted, I can't stand those flex fit hats
  14. You can never have enough pitching
  15. Would it be weird if I bought a Lackey shirt? I wish it really did say John Mother f***ing Lackey though
  16. that answers my question... -__-
  17. I guess that means :ortiz: doesn't work either?
  18. Now they can switch from their Detroit Tigers 2012 World Series Champions gear!
  19. I wonder how hard does Jonny Gomes party? I'm pretty sure I would want to party with that guy.
  20. Ben Cherington for 2013 talksox MVP
  21. IIRC, Dempster actually pitched well for awhile at one point..
