  1. My cousin is a Rangers fan after their last two seasons. He basically feels that "Texas, greatest team ever!!!" isn't laughable, in fact, he thinks it's the 11th commandment now. After seeing them go to the series twice, but not win it yet, he feels as though the team has some 'underdog' appeal as well.
  2. I like ice cream.
  3. If they could get him at a decent price yes. I think this move, along with possibly getting Theriot for our starting shortstop, and maybe adding another bullpen piece with Uehara, we'd be set. Too bad I just don't think the team can pull this off without dumping any more salary.
  4. I think he could be an effective middle reliever. He does show signs of having some decent stuff occasionally. He's just too inconsistent to be a starter or a long reliever.
  5. I still don't think we can afford that though. If we could, I would be okay with it.
  6. I'd rather see a one year deal for this season. Would I rather go into the season without a definite starting pitcher in at least the #4 spot? No. Would I want to see the team blow the cap and sign someone like Jackson to a four year deal? No. I'd like to see the Sox get Oswalt on a one year deal, maybe even Jackson if they can pick him up on a 1 or maybe even a 2 year deal. Then get Uehara for the bullpen, and we're set.
  7. In my opinion, Jackson isn't worth a multi-year deal at the price Boras is asking for him. The other options you listed would cost prospects as well. Oswalt to me still seems to be the best option, considering he is better than Jackson, even with a potential bad back.
  8. Seems like most of their rotations are pretty solid now. Not sure why NYY would take Kuroda over Oswalt, but it could be due to injury concerns. That and I think that Oswalt wants to stay out of the ALE, and possibly even the AL altogether, he's never been an AL pitcher.
  9. It's the one on my phone too haha
  10. Saw that earlier. I think he would be a great fit for Boston, you know he wants to play for a contender too, he just declined a trade to the Jays.
  11. Funny how we joined close to the same time, and our names are extremely similar.
  12. You'll learn, with time.
  13. I still think he'd have some suitors, but I can't see him sticking around unless he swallows his pride and lets a team take a flier on him or something. Either that or he goes back to Japan to pitch, which may even be the best for him.
  14. I'm reading everywhere that Oswalt is trying to land somewhere else. That's too bad. Hopefully he will change his mind and come here, I'd rather see him over Jackson, but I'd rather see Jackson over Cook/Silva/Germano/Padilla
  15. I'm sure they are trying to pick someone up now, chances are Oswalt is trying to see if he can get any better offers with another team, probably something NL so he doesn't have to try real hard to have a contract year. Jackson is probably still asking for more than one year. Either way we'll just have to wait and see.
  16. Now the tigers have several pieces they won't be able to move, and no money to retain their rotation.
  17. I could see Theriot coming to Boston before Hanley.
  18. I know it wasn't directed towards me, I was just throwing my two cents in really.
  19. Could be interesting.. I don't really consider Hanley to be that much of an everyday SS though. Doesn't he have a bit of an injury history? Not to mention horrible clubhouse attitude, etc. etc. I was under the impression that he hasn't had full seasons the last couple of years.
