  1. Simply amazing. Where does all the f'king money come from?
  2. We'll see what you have to say when he brings you Back to Back Duck Boats.
  3. We need some new awards. MVDA = Most Valuable Deadline Acquisition!
  4. Yeah, I highly doubt DD would have been so quick to re-sign him if he was a jackass.
  5. You really like playing that little game. We might even have won it all without Mookie this year. But I wouldn't have wanted to try it.
  6. I think Edgar Martinez and David Ortiz should be.
  7. Is that your argument for JD being MVP? JD was unquestionably the MVA - Most Valuable Addition any team made this year.
  8. Cora is rewarded with an extension and a raise. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/11/red-sox-extend-alex-cora.html
  9. Agreed. And he's an excellent pinch hitter-most notably in WS Game 4 of course.
  10. Excluding Hanley, obviously.
  11. That's the way I see it too.
  12. I'm not sure what DD plans to do with Swihart, but Cora made it pretty clear he didn't really want to play him that much. The only way something substantial opens up for Swihart would seem to be if they part ways with Leon.
  13. Unfortunately what we saw in 2018 wasn't parity, but teams either trying to contend or trying to suck. Two teams that tanked hard and then won the World Series a few years later (Cubs, Astros) probably had something to do with that.
  14. I did a little research on this once, and I found that for 8 or 9 years in a row, the AL manager of the year was with the team that had the biggest increase in wins from the year before.
  15. The Yankees would take some SERIOUS heat for that move. The allegations against Russell are arguably much worse than the ones against Chapman were.
  16. Johnson consumed 99 innings of spot starts/long relief with an ERA+ of 105 for $548,000. That made him a good value piece.
  17. Cool. One little correction-Mitch's 3 run homer was off Madson. Pearce then got the game tying homer off Jansen.
  18. So why has he grown on you?
  19. See, while the rest of us thought it was an OK signing, nothing to get excited about one way or the other, you were flipping and flopping with your opinion based on how he was going. (Teasing.)
  20. Giving more weight to run production you mean.
  21. Excellent point ken. The farm did indeed bear fruit there.
  22. Your opinion on this is about the same as mine. So it's a knowledgeable and smart one.
  23. JD had a great offensive season. But I'm puzzled why you would choose him over other players that had higher WAR, like Bregman as sk7326 mentioned, who had a 7.6 to JD's 5.9. It seems like you're giving more weight to run production.
  24. He's referring to these allegations of wrongdoing. https://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/mlb/seattle-mariners/article221571265.html
  25. In this case it was more like outrageous suggestions.
