  1. LOL Billy's internet research is sometimes a little incomplete.
  2. You made me look him up. But I don't see how he pertains to my post.
  3. No official word that Sandy has accepted the assignment yet, but yes, it would be very surprising if he doesn't.
  4. I too have learned that when it comes to the niceties of MLB contracts, it doesn't pay to be too sure of yourself.
  5. It's not really a great shock that when a name free agent goes directly from the Sox to the Yanks or vice versa, some people are going to regard them as a traitor. I'm sure some Yankee fans felt that way about Mike Torrez and took some extra pleasure in the Bucky Dent game as a result.
  6. And your internet research skills are well established here.
  7. It always amuses me how sports fans think they have this divine gift of foreseeing the future.
  8. I think that if one of the starters came down with an arm problem, the idea would be instantly scrapped.
  9. There was some tension for a while there, but I thing it's long gone now.
  10. Yep, can't wait for baseball, and can't wait for all the bitching on the game threads.
  11. Don't feel that way anymore. That's all pretty much gone now.
  12. And of course it's pretty likely that A-Rod was juicing in '09 when he carried the Yanks to the title, right? Without that they'd be without one since 2000, right?
  13. Things have loosened up here in that regard, I think.
  14. Cora is a madman. Get ready for an interesting season.
  15. That's the way I feel too.
  16. I think if we really tried we could make up a decent list of guys who have done it.
  17. Likely because they have some of the same concerns about losing Leon that you do.
  18. I think notin's comment was about Stephen Drew? Gets hard to follow the posting chain sometimes.
  19. Attaboy, when you've got nothing else, pull out the milkshake.
  20. Um, no, some guy named Martin Kleinbard who works for a CBS local affiliate is not well-known. Had you ever heard of him? But sure, you can always find lots of unsubstantiated crap on the internet, obviously.
  21. Leon's legs are as thick as oak tree trunks.
  22. Yes, it seems simple enough. If Leon clears waivers, he either accepts the assignment to Pawtucket and collects his full salary, or he declines and it and becomes a free agent.
  23. Eovaldi was kind of a special case. Lots of apparent upside trading off with lots of risk. It was a fat contract based on his career numbers and injuries but maybe not indicative of a trend.
  24. The 2002 team was a harbinger of great things to come and just needed a few additional pieces.
