  1. E-Rod was replaced after a walk, intentional walk and single. It's not like he was getting whacked around.
  2. Part of the reason he tries to squeeze every last out from his starters is that the starters in general have not been going deep enough and the relievers are pitching too many innings.
  3. They are 6th in the majors in runs scored per game, so they are one of the better offenses. Obviously the faults you see in the hitters are shared by most hitters in baseball.
  4. 34-7 when leading after 7 is clearly not good, assuming that's an accurate tally.
  5. But it does tell you something compared to the Yanks and Rays.
  6. Go Trey!
  7. So Giolito doesn't count as 'actual MLB pitching', even though he has excellent numbers on the season, because we scored some runs off him, which proves he wasn't pitching well, because we are s***. That about right?
  8. Those are some telling numbers.
  9. What's disheartening about the blown saves games we've lost is that 3 of them have come in the last 2 weeks - June 10, 18 and 22.
  10. And that's the key number.
  11. Of course. Nothing to do with the players simply failing to perform whatsoever.
  12. The starters are 22-27 with a 4.48 ERA, and averaging 5.21 innings per start. You think those numbers aren't a big problem?
  13. I think the bottom line is this: The bullpen has been MEDIOCRE, as expected. The starting pitching has been unexpectedly BAD. That's why the pen seems to compare favorably to the starting pitching.
  14. Your methodology seems fair, but the results seem a little wonky.
  15. Yuck.
  16. Calling the removal of Johnson after 83 pitches a WTF Cora is pretty ridiculous. The guy started the year in the pen, was on the IL and wasn't ready to be tossing any 100 pitch games.
  17. I don't think the team should start trading guys just because we're having a disappointing, frustrating season. I can see trading Porcello because his contract is expiring, that's about the only 'name' move I can see.
  18. My cursory internet research shows that Peter Abraham has reported DD's deal runs through 2020.
  19. The London games were all John Henry's doing.
  20. Confirmation of the obvious is not necessary. It's redundant, in fact, and thus a waste of time. (I'm just giving you a hard time. )
  21. No offense, but of what possible use is this information? We all know it's highly unlikely at this juncture. Numbers like 11% and 8.2% could hardly be more meaningless. 11% suggests that if we get to play the next half-season 9 times, one of those times we'll win it!
