  1. Pom looks like a guy who's not yet all the way back from injury.
  2. They'll probably end up tweaking his arm angle. It seems to me (and I don't claim to know anything conclusively) that he may have a mechanical problem that stems from his arm positioning after starting his throws. We shall see.
  3. Growing pains. But he wasn't a top prospect for nothing.
  4. Hyperbole. But whatever. You're entitled to your opinion. He's going through the growing pains that kids go through. He'll be fine.
  5. ....like every other 3B in the league. The real problem lies with his throwing. It's not even an argument.
  6. I don't see it. I think the Manny comparison as it pertains to the current version of JD Martinez is fair.
  7. Yeah except Gonzales was a LHH 1B.
  8. The approach is similar yet different in one key aspect. Martinez (as he has said himself) is always looking for a pitch to drive in the air. Manny loved to go 5.5 when pitchers were trying to beat him in with hard stuff and he was behind in the count. Still, Manny was born to hit, JD had to turn himself into an elite hitter. More than one way to skin a cat.
  9. I just don't see it. He has a throwing issue. It happens. Footwork's fine, actual fielding is fine. Bat needs reps, and no better reps for a hitter that advanced than MLB. You are dealing in the most hyperbolic of hyperboles is what I'm trying to say.
  10. Stop being an annoying idiot. No one cares about BS like that here. Take it to the non-baseball part of the forums.
  11. I've never seen a hitter have a stretch of just consistently hitting the ball with authority quite like JD since the trade to Arizona. If he had a little less swing-and-miss to his game, I don't even know how far he could go offensively (although not gonna hit .400, that's a pipe dream). But Jesus, dude can flat-out hit.
  12. You shut your whore mouth Ted. Don't liken our high-ceiling kid to Yankee trash please.
  13. So tell us how you really feel about Devers.
  14. What the hell are you even talking about?
  15. Two SS, no 3B and no CF? Ok.
  16. Then read the thread so you know the flow of the conversation instead of complaining about it. You've been here long enough to know that the conversation ebbs and flows, and topics aren't set in stone.
  17. It means JDM is pretty goddamn good.
  18. The Swihart at 2B idea is ridiculous.
  19. The fact the Yankees lost makes this sting even more.
  20. Because they use a different formula. This takes 30 seconds to figure out if you're actually interested in understanding instead of criticizing the stat.
