You think that all of the negative ******** you spew is the complete and absolute truth, and you combine yourself with the rest of your crew to create a shitstorm of negative ******** that turns this board damn near unreadable. I take everything you say as an insult, because it usually is a thinly-veiled insult. Or an outright insult. You have no moral standing to call anyone out on anything in this board. When i say something, i mean it as such, without any second intention. When i want to call a poster stupid, i will call him stupid, and not the specific idea which i am quoting. I do not give a flying f*** how you and your crew interpret it. And for the record, i don't consider a700 to be stupid, even though i do consider him to be extremely annoying.

    I was talking about the Cubs bro. I've been one of the most ardent defenders of the current Red Sox team on this board. Please don't lump me in with the "disaster strikes" crowd.

    By the way, comparing the Marlins to the Cubs is asinine. The Marlins have newfound revenue and reason to spend: They had no bad contracts, a solid farm system, a new stadium and internal stability. The Cubs are quite the opposite, it's comparing apples to dragons. And like dragons, the Cubs' chance of contending in 2012 is a mythical creature who many believe exists, but no one can provide proof of its existence.

    They are blowing up the team. There is absolutely nothing complicated about that. They have no design on contending in 2012, because the 2011 team was a piece of s*** loaded with bad contracts, a barren farm system, and incompeten coaching/managing. There is nothing "Moneyball" about it. It is not rocket science.

    Didn't you just say in another thread that you read the Sox have around 5-6 mill to spend? That would be enough for Harden and a BP arm, which would make it a successful off-season IMO.

    It was very interesting reading on WEEI yesterday when the Kuroda rumor was posted that his signing immediately sent the Red Sox back into the MLB's "elite". That tells me that this team is seen as being a pitcher away from being one of the best in the Majors, and that the collection of talent is significant, contradicting some of the rhetoric you read around these parts.

    It is as obvious as the fact that water is wet that the Cubs have no designs on contending in 2012 and are rather plugging holes in order to field "a team" in 2012. The Cubs are focused on the long-term because there is no logical way for them to build a contender for next season. There's nothing to see here, folks, move on. This has nothing to do with "Moneyball" as a concept.
