  1. Unsurprising that some of this material comes from Mazz, seeing how he's the very definition of an insufferable douche.
  2. But hey, people hit Lackey so it's easy.
  3. A facepalm smiley is very much needed here. http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/facepalm.gif
  4. Shoppach also owns Fat Sabby.
  5. .255/.338/.460 .798 OPS, 20 HR. Gets traded at mid/off season.
  6. Not promoting Millwood when the wheels were falling of the wagon was probably one of the Sox' biggest mistakes last year. Don't expect that to happen this year. They have built depth to use it.
  7. Padilla, if he can keep it together. He has the best stuff out of anyone in the bunch.
  8. There is scientific proof supporting the fact that hitting (baseball or hard-pitch softball) is the most difficult activity an athlete can perform. Apparently Teddy Ballgame wasn't just a better baseball player than you, but also a bit smarter.
  9. People assume that V. won't be long term in Boston because of the way his relationship has ended in past gigs. His style wears on players and FO's alike, and knowing the Boston atmosphere, it is a reasonable assumption that if he behaves as he has before he will get run out of town sooner rather than later. But again, this is all assumption.
  10. The reason why Ortiz is not a viable option is that he's the most unlikely to be here for the long term. He may be gone after this season.
  11. You did, just a couple posts ago? We get it, you hate Josh Beckett.
  12. Red Sox fans: Beckett doesn't want to talk about incident: "Why isn't Beckett apologizing and saying his side of the story? He's an arrogant ******* and he doesn't care about the team or fans, only himself". Beckett talks about incident: "Why doesn't Beckett shut his mouth about what went down? He's an arrogant ******* and he doesn't care about the team or fans, only himself". True Story.
  13. Defensively Martin isn't even in the same planet as Molina. It's a non-argument. Even in Molina's worst season throwing base runners out, overall, he allowed a measly 46 SB. Martin allowed twice as many stolen bases. It goes to show you how much one can control and limit the running game compared to the other.
  14. I'll send you two six packs of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat if Beckett gets traded in 2012. It ain't happening. @jung
  15. It's just another case of the media over-blowing something completely innocuous. Beckett's not nearly on the level of ******* of players such as Manny, Logan Morrison and Miguel Tejada who say stupid thing after stupid thing but don't get the amount of flak Beckett is getting. Hell, David Ortiz is much more of a loudmouth and a diva than Beckett. This is just an attempt by the media to continue to exploit chicken-gate. Time to move on.
  16. Martin is not comparable to Molina. Not only is Molina in his own universe defensively, but he exploded offensively at the perfect time last year. He's the best catcher in baseball at the moment.
  17. Beckett isn't going anywhere because they'd never get fair value for him in a trade if he's sucking, and if he's doing good he's technically a bargain and the Sox need him.
  18. The poll question was pretty clear. The point was to find out who people thought should be the captain if one was named.
  19. People are grasping at some pretty short straws to hate Beckett. Besides, who cares as long as he pitches well and keeps his mouth shut?
  20. The money argument is also overplayed. He can be making a $100 million per, but if he's not hitting better than Pedroia, then he shouldn't be occupying Pedroia's spot in the lineup.
  21. You don't need advanced stats to know Pedroia's a better hitter than Crawford. . That's a cop-out. You give your best hitters the most AB's. That's always been the basis for lineup construction. As for the rest of your post, Crawford can use his speed batting 6th or 7th, it's not like it will magically disappear, and you hit your best hitter third. That's Adrian. You just don't move the lineup around to "restore some guy's confidence". He will hit where he is told to hit.
