  1. You mean 1 1/2 years from now, like every post mentioning the subject above you has suggested? Read plz
  2. Fred, you're old enough to not be this immature. That's all i'll say about that.
  3. Very convincing argument. You pretty much stated everything i wanted to. Not only is Shields not an ace, but Holland is not that good. Dojji has an inexplicable boner for Royals players that forces him to overrate them.
  4. How is Brandon Snyder a pertinent example? He was called up because of an immediate, unexpected need.
  5. No, it really isn't. It's an absolutely horrible proposal.
  6. Still can't find my Nixon avatar. Gimme a hand here man.
  7. The problem with the Michael Bourn/BJ Upton and Nick Swisher comparisons to Ellsbury is that he's better than both Bourn (better average/power/D) and BJ (better average/D/OBP with less power) and a completely different, younger player than Swisher. He also has Boras as his advisor in an offseason where only he and Choo are elite lead-off options. He will get his money.
  8. I wouldn't. Not with Boras as his agent.
  9. Someone's gonna give him 100 mill. Take it to the bank.
  10. Doubront has been getting deeper into games with some semblance of consistency lately. Continued improvement may be the "pitching acquisition" the Red Sox need.
  11. I think Stephen's vagina is a lot tougher than JD's. Stephen's can take a pounding.
  12. Fred, then you wonder why people get on your case. The fact that Stephen's last name is Drew has nothing to do with whether or not he's A) injured. B ) Genuinely injured.
  13. It really is. If i was going to trade Xander and Webster/RDlR and Brentz AND one more prospect, i'd expect at least pitcher that's younger, better and cheaper than Shields, plus a good BP arm and a good prospect. AT LEAST.
  14. How does your trade scenario "set up up for the future"? You're sacrificing three top prospects for a year + of Shields and a good reliever. That is extremely short sighted. Also, again, what is your thing with KC players? @Dojji
  15. It would not be a good idea at all. He has never played any position other than the OF corners and 1B professionally. He couldn't just learn the position out of the blue mid-season.
  16. Well sucks for you. Because it's the truth.
  17. Wait for it..........The Boston Red Sox are good at baseball
  18. I think Buchholz is into S&M, and since his wife roughs him up, these "mysterious" injuries keep popping up.
  19. Well my friend we can agree to disagree on this one. I think XB will become an elite bat, and wouldn't trade him in a package unless the pitcher coming back was both elite and cost-controlled.
  20. He's a FA after '16, and again, i wouldn't trade a monster package (because you know XB alone won't be enough) for two years of a guy who may or may not sign an extension. It's almost impossible they'll trade him in-season, so it's two years of control you're looking at.
  21. This discussion is getting kind of silly. I think the rhetoric can be toned down a bit and wait to see what happens with Fat Sabby. Other pitchers have successfully adapted to pitching with less velocity, and we just don't know whether or not Sabathia will be able to. Time will tell, and all we can do is wait. That said, an argument can be made for the fact that fatty's declining quickly thanks to the loss of velocity, but the argument can be made that we just won't know if he will or won't adjust until the sample is bigger. All we can do is wait.
  22. Why? He's going to be a FA soon enough. Why sacrifice a potential superstar when you can wait Price out and sign him as a FA? Again, throwing caution out the wind to go for the established name is the reason 2012 happened.
  23. Man i said in another thread "since 2002" from the top of my head, and boy was i ever right on that one. Nice research Bellhorn, interesting topic.
  24. Sooooooo you don't trade for any of 'em? Why trade for the sake of trading? Either trade for a decent pitcher who's not comfortably outpitching his peripherals or stick with the farm.
