  1. I am temporarily gay for you after this post. If you made Station 13 get rid of that stupid f***ing avatar, i'd upgrade it to "permanently"
  2. Ortiz does not care about your reverse splits.
  3. Lackey does not care who his opponent is.
  4. We don't need to cheat when the other team is doing all of our work for us.
  5. It was resin. MLB and the Cardinals organization agreed. Stop whining and try to keep up.
  6. MLB's statement on the substance found on Lester's glove: Farrell's explanation: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/mlb-issues-statement-regarding-speculation-of-foreign-substance-on-jon-lesters-glove?ymd=20131024&content_id=63302206&vkey=news_mlb Feel free to continue using that as an excuse to justify yesterday's butt-whooping Cards fans.
  7. What is it with you and "seeing videos". Can you prove that it was vaseline? I didn't know it came in green color now. No one is sure of what exactly was in his glove other than Lester, but whatever it was, it didn't alert the umpires, and it was clearly visible.
  8. Again, i got that. My question was directed at the separation of "splits" from "reverse splits".
  9. I get that. What i didn't understand was your reference to reverse splits as an entirely different animal to splits. I thought that by definition, reverse splits were part of the general splits definition. I'm just picking nits though.
  10. I don't understand exactly what you mean here jung. Could you explain?
  11. And for the record, Dojji, Fangraphs WAR is better than BB-REF WAR because both the defensive stat (UZR) and offensive stat (wRAA) are superior. Note: BB-Ref also uses wRAA but they've made some specific tweaks for the formula that make it very imbalanced. And also, you don't "always" use BB-REF WAR. That is a blatant lie which is easy to disprove, and you know it. You are using it because it fits your argument.
  12. He can't even get his posters straight, and doesn't understand the stats he's using to make his case. Hopeless. Anyways, Drew has been comfortably above average this season per both WAR calculations, but he just doesn't fit long-term. It is what it is. Also, the fact that Fangraphs values him slightly better this year means nothing when the one who brought up his career value was you, and that was the point. Try to keep up.
  13. She's a "ma'am". And if his last name is "Buck" then what is he here for?
  14. Except Wainwright if he's on. Wacha could be a challenge too. A young pitcher riding a hot streak is extremely dangerous. Ask Josh Beckett.
  15. Using the clearly inferior BB-REF formula in this instance, because it happens to suit your argument. What i would like to know is how you come upon the following thought process: "s***** minor league or Royals player, must pine for him with all my strength regardless of evidence that shows how crappy the player is and how much i am ridiculed on site". Then turn around and: "Red Sox top prospect or elite free agent, must pine against him with all my strength regardless of evidence that shows how great this player is/will be and how much i am ridiculed on site". Seriously? Don't get me wrong. I like Drew, and i've been one of his strongest defenders on this board, but you don't block Bogaerts and move him off his natural position for him. You also don't block WMB and sell low on him for Drew. He's good, but he has platoon issues and he is fragile. If he had a bit more positional flexibility he could stay, but he doesn't. Your idea that he could play other positions competently is based upon nothing but the massive boner you're sporting for him. Please stop.
  16. I love how he's making serious baseball posts in the "Size up" threads.
  17. Their pythag had them going at 100-62, so by all measures, they were no fluke. Saying they were "not good at all" is silly. They had slightly above average starting pitching (Their starting five combined for a 105 ERA+) but they had a lights-out BP and the most potent offense in the NL, featuring three guys with OPS's above 1.000 in Pujols, Edmonds and Rolen. Let's be serious here, that was an elite team.
  18. Yeah this doesn't make a lot of sense. "alienate" doesn't necessarily talk about liking/disliking the manager/coach. It's about respect. If the players don't respect the manager/coach, then no amount of "bridging" coaches will be able to stop chaos from spreading within the clubhouse. V alienated his players, and they didn't respect him. It cost him the clubhouse. Belichick is also a terrible example because A) Most players actually like him. B ) All players respect him, and those who don't, get the boot.
  19. http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Adron+Chambers+mwEHldZYS1wm.jpg Adron Chambers says hello. He may be the odd man out if Craig is activated, but he's on the roster as of right now.
  20. Yeah which one of them brought their team back from a 69-win season to a 97-win one and a WS berth?
  21. And ownership, fanbase, media, conditioning staff, family, friends, friends of friends etc.
  22. If he wasn't, we wouldn't be staring down the Cardinals in a WS matchup.
