  1. The entire Red Sox rotation suffers from this problem of over thinking. They spend entirely too much time between pitches and never establish a rhythm. This is the reason why I am concerned that this experiment if it continues too much longer could result in causing more harm than good. But the Sox are stuck since they have no other 5th starter readily avaiable. So moving Bard out of the rotation is a moot point for the time being.
  2. It's the cutter. There is a direct realationship between throwing the cutter and reduced fastball vcelocity. Red Sox pitchers have fallen in love with that pitch to their disadvantage.
  3. I don't think but rather quite the opposite. It is clear that one of Bard's problem starting is a mental one. He admitted as much himself. The question, and I think this was raised this AM on the baseball show as well, is will this funk (as Bard himself called it ) carry over to his return to the bullpen, if and when he returns. I think that isd a fair question. He has lost his velocity and his fastball comamnd. I am not so sure one can unquestionablely say those will return to the status quo ante once he transitions back to the pen.
  4. It isn't only the physical issues but the mental ones as well. Bard is over thinking evrything. He has become a Clay Buchholtz clone. You are right get him out of there sooner rather than later.
  5. Bard has proven that he is mediocre starter at best. The question is has he so screwed up his head and lost his velocity that he would no longer be an effective setup man or closer.
  6. I have had the same thought for several weeks also.
  7. Henry's business record is to buy franchises and entities in distress and turn them around and sell at a profit. One of the cardinal rules of the smart and successful investor is never fall in love with ones investments. He bought both Liverpool and the Red Sox when they were in distress and undervalued. I think he'll sell either or both when presented with the right opportunity.
  8. Jerry is right great job maqnaging by BV
  9. Despite the drama still a one run game
  10. OMG Bryd caught another one. Do you believe it!
  11. Nothing semi about it! He becomes Barney Fife. I would have pulled him also.
  12. Buchholtz is a basket case in pressure situations. Scott owns him. Plus I don't think BV takes out Buchholtz if he hadn't taken that ball off his leg.
  13. Who needs Carl Crawford when you have Nava
  14. Could we see a complete game!
  15. OMG Bryd actually caught it for once
  16. Glad to see that I was wrong and Lester did come out for the 8th.
